It would make sense on a broad scale, it doesn't prove any existence of God and I say that as a Christian, but many times recovering from illness or being happy is a perception thing. If you believe in a higher power then you retain hope and a more positive attitude which is scientifically proven to help the body deal with health issues.
If you say get cancer and don't believe in God, you fall into stress and despair because you have no hope for any "help" from a higher power, and only look at statistics which would show you don't have good odds. So with a poor attitude, you've lost the battle before it begins

So are you saying that I should believe in God simply for fear of going to Hell? That's a pussy reason to believe. If I'm wrong and I go to Hell, then your stupid judgmental God is selfish in that he judges by belief and not actual character or actions during life.
Merry Christmas CNB, all will be judged by the benevolence they have shown their fellow man and saved when they confess that Jesus is Lord and Savior, no man enters the Kingdom of Heaven but through Christ!

So if I live my life helping others and being kind but don't believe in God, I still go to Hell?
Sounds like God is a conceited a-hole.

CNB if you live your life helping others I believe you'll have a moment where the Lords presence will fall upon you. Even after such an encounter it's still difficult in this world to live 24/7 as a devout Christian.
Satan is the master of this world and it's really quite obvious if one allows their senses to process all the evil that occurs each day in this world to deny that fact.
Man has a tendency to be evil through pride, vanity, greed, lust etc. and it's only through Christ that allows man to combat this evil.

Meh. Millennial/some Gen Xers are just atheist because of the digital age. Imagine the average kid in SEC country, growing up in a religious community, once he or she realizes the hypocrisies/fallacies/fairy tales in the Bible as they have access to them at their finger tips, their first reaction is to negotiate some sort of resolution. They try and find compromises. Some middle ground. Then that slowly unravels. You see it all the time.
But they still have a sense of community to fall back on. Through all of it, there are people at all stages of realizing said problems they are. A sense of support that their rejection of their family's religion, as a lot of people still respect the morals and values of their parents, isn't as devastating as they think it will be.
For people that are atheist reporting hip problems are something, their atheism is probably rooted more in cynicism than it is rationality. I'm not an atheist, I'm an agnostic that would love to make my peace with God, as I don't think this world is an accident. I merely reject every religion presented. To think that religion has an affect on things like mental health and the number of kids you have, I can totally believe, as the root of your family/community has a lot to do with that, and atheists without the Internet probably reached that conclusion with a very cynical outlook.

I have no intention of pointing out my objections to things in the Bible to you. You believe in it, I suppose. More power to you. The idea of divine forgiveness, regardless of crime, if you believe that the son of God is a powerful tool. Some Catholics that still believe in the Council of Trent, say that those believe grace alone without acts is the way to salvation, is actually still shitty and you'll go to Hell, which I can kind of respect more, but I'm guessing you're not Catholic most aren't round these parts. I don't disrespect your beliefs, I just don't personally agree with the premise.
What I was doing there was merely pointing out what's probably a well documented process. Most people now that are leaving religion at a young age are doing so because they have access to the Internet. The Internet points out what they conclude are hypocrisies/fallacies/fairy tales in the Bible. Whether they are or not, I won't speak on any further, just merely that that is the conclusion the youth are reaching with access to information.

Saying people who don't believe have nothing to live for is the epitome of ignorant.
You live your life by some magical being you can't prove exists.
I live my life for myself and my family.

You better hope you are right.

CNB, I'll be your battle buddy in Hell.
Do people like Hitler and Adam Lanza have it easy in Hell?
