And this is what should happen in a civilized society. One a-hole making a racist remark is not institutional racism. This was 14 years ago, and the situation was resolved without UA having to create a fricking "safe space" inside BDS.
There's an excellent article here discussing the problem as being that these kids want to continue to be treated as children. Fine. Raise the voting age to 25. I would be all for that. If you don't have the capacity to respect free speech and allow opposing points of view to be heard, you have no business voting in this country.

Yes it was. We were talking about the situation at Mizzou and how people experienced similar things here at Alabama and she showed us her video.

No where in this quote did she say only students of color would be allowed in this area? If a straight person wanted to go to spectrum about how they were harassed because of their sexuality, I'm sure they wouldn't turn them away (of course this wouldn't happen in the first place).
I'm sure that if a white person wanted to discuss how they experienced racism or any type of racial harassment, I'm sure they wouldn't turn them away..............
ETA I will argue that UA has one of the highest number of minority faculty and staff in the nation.

Don't be an idiot. You're smarter than that. She said that is was specifically for students of color. There's a reason why she didn't say it would be for all students...because it wouldn't be. The very act of saying that it is for one group implies that the other group is unwelcome.

Ok hypothetical situation....... A Jewish kid gets called a "kike" on the quad, or someone draws a swastika on his dorm wall. Do you honestly think this place would turn him away if he was trying to file a complaint simply because he was white? If they did then that's on them, but this campus wouldn't purposefully open an office of diversity or racial affairs if they were going to publicly discriminate based on race. That just doesn't make any sense.

Just throwing this out there...
Maybe they could create their own world and all go there. It would be just them. That solves everything, right???? It would really hurt but maybe somehow, we could all adjust to it.
