I'm from the Arkansas Delta, which is very similar to that of Mississippi. Most of the people I knew who got out were glad they did and didn't look back.

I really thought this was going to be a thread about the airline. I've had very few bad experiences with Delta...aside from them dicking over some family friends who used to fly for them. Still, it's the only airline I'll fly.
So, this is now a Delta Airline thread.

Well it wasn't my decision to drug test. On my farm I won't do it but they do it due to OSHA cracking down on safety issues last year. Prior to that they didn't test workers

I like the delta because I have friends here that I've known my entire life and my career suits me here. Low cost of living and lots of freedom that I enjoy. I like how we have things like annual duck hunts and four wheeler rides.
I have places to take friends duck hunting while they take me dove and turkey hunting.
Why move away from where you know everyone to where you know nobody? Sure the towns are crappy except for greenwood and Cleveland but when I live in the country it doesn't bother me
And we are the 2nd largest gambling destination next to Vegas so we have that going for us

Southwest is 10x better. Of course, it's not exactly a great option for international flight, but I refuse to fly any other airline domestically.

Delta airlines started in Greenville as an agriculture crop dusting service if I'm not mistaken then they relocated to Atlanta I believe once they became commercial

Delta started in Monroe LA as a crop dusting operation.

Sounds miserable to me. My wife is from a small town and every time we're there visiting she runs into people she knows every place we go. Having to stop and make small talk with everybody is annoying.
Different strokes for different folks though.

Yep see I like that about small towns. Just don't date a girl from your hometown cause you'll know every guy that has been with her and half of them will be your friends

Well Greenwood is probably the best town left in the Delta. Lots of late 20s early 30s live there.
Don't be deceived, children. Greenwood sucks as bad as any other delta town.

I'd say it's the fault of an unjust law, and an unjust policy to drug test.
What's your stance on impairment on the job? Serious question.

Is this now A tale of Three Deltas?
Posted on 4/23/14 at 10:34 am to deltaland
It's sad to see what's happened to the delta land
Posted on 4/23/14 at 10:35 am to hawgfaninc
I don't think anything has really happened to the delta and that's the main issue
Posted on 4/23/14 at 10:39 am to sorantable
So you're saying the delta land hasn't got any action in quite some time?
