It's been a cry-fest since we last to UMKC. Basically since the day we hired an old D2 coach people have been pretty bitchy and irrationally impatient

I don't care what kind of players or coaches we have....we should NEVER lose to UMKC. There is no excuse.

The team was hot garbage last year. Some was KA's fault (lack of offense, suspensions, etc), some was not (fuller situation, low talent). In my mind, there are no true "pass" years at the University of Missouri. It sucks the hand he was dealt, but you have to deal with it.

As for him being old, I think that is just a product of people being tired of the coaching carousel. Quin was supposed to be here long term, that didn't work out. Mike was here even less, Frank, less than that. Seeing us hire a old coach like KA spells out that we will be searching for a new coach in 5-6 years regardless of success. People are tired of that. They want a 15+ year coach.

People using the Gregg Marshall example...Wichita st was god awful when he got there. Way worse position than Mizzou is in. He had way less resources and support, and still got them to .500 by year 2.

I'm all for seeing what KA can do this season, but if we don't get to .500, just save ourselves a few years and cut ties.

Fans looking for a coach to be here 15+ years need to look around college BBall.

There are over 300 D1 teams, probably only 10 percent of college coaches have been at their job over 10 years. Look at the SEC, there is 1 team Vandy that has a coach that been there for over 10 years.

Actually Marshall took over a team with 4 seniors and 3 Juniors and a team that the previous year was 17-14 and was in the top 15 to begin the season with wins over # 6 LSU and a top ten Syracuse team. Wichita St has always been a solid basketball program with great support because it's the only thing going in Wichita, unless you really like airplanes....Upsets happen literally every year in basketball.

Never thought there'd be a day where we were aspiring to be like an MVC team. I always liked Wichita State. Like the MVC for what it is. Go to Arch Madness almost every year. Never in my life did I ever think of Mizzou as being an inferior program. Maybe I need to re-adjust my expectations overall and just enjoy not making Final Fours. Dunno.

Im starting to think CMA drove Teki away. Nothing really adds up. All his Instagram photos and tweets stuff are about (and very recently) how his teammates are his brothers.

When your "core" group with it being as many as 5 players are all returning and their all your best friends, why would you want to leave? especially due to how young they are.

8 Wins when your team is practically freshman with a few sophomores with the addition of almost certain progression makes for a bright(er) future.

I don't aspire to be an MVC team either, but everyone acts like Marshall would have been such a great hire so the situations are very comparable. He would have been a great hire, but oh yeah he didn't want the job.

I hear ya my friend. Let there be no doubt about this. I think everyone here wants to see the program competing at a high level and playing in Final Fours in our lifetime. If that were to happen this year, I would be more than happy to eat that steaming pile of crap I drunkenly posted about.

Kids don't think 5 years down the road. This team isn't likely making the tournament during his college career. It's also his college years. He should enjoy those years. Losing ain't fun. Period.

I doubt the players that's here agree, that they won't make the NCAA tourney while they are here in college.

If they do, do you really want them?

There's lots of winners here, on the staff KA, Fulford, & Tate have all been successful HC on some level.
The in coming class has Phillips, team was second nationally. Puryear state state champ.

If this core stays together, and Mizzou recruits solidly in 2016 & 2017, that's without getting any Porter Jr level players then they can improve enough to make a couple NCAAs before they are done here.
It's all dependent on putting in the work to improve. B that includes coaches and players.

Just saying, look at SLU. That core group had I forgot 8,9, maybe 10 wins the first year.. then boom 3 straight round of 32 appearences. Man that was a bummer, 3 straight 32 exits.

The ones who stayed probably don't agree. But for JWIII, he'll be a junior and we aren't making the tourney next year. So he'd have one year left to just get back to the tournament. That's not being a bad player to recognize the reality of where your program is. If Vandy football players thought they were going to a New Year's Eve bowl this year, I'd question their sanity first. Not their dedication to the program. And that's where Mizzou basketball is right now. Vandy football.

Was last year too.

They won't make it next year. I originally thought them making the tourney by year 3 would be realistic. Now, I'm thinking double digit wins this year. NIT the following and NCAA the year after. That would give Teki's class 1 tournament appearance.

I think Allen won 3 straight state ships in TX. and Isabell led his team to the WA championship as well.

The loss of Gill-Caesar is definitely unfortunate. The loyalty of these players is unfortunate. I really have a hard time believing Teki and J3 are going to find better fits at a program after having to sit out a year. I don't think it's time for pitch-forks but if KA doesn't come through with more than 9 wins this season, he should be fired.
