and his basketball program is making me yearn for the good ole' days of Quin Snyder.
We are inching closer and closer to the basketball version of kU football.
Gonna be hard to come back from the hole Kim Anderson has put us in.
I am sure he is a super awesome, moral and likable guy but he is killing this program faster than Bret Bielema can empty a buffet.

It's hard to argue that anyone (who Mizzou had a chance at) not named Gregg Marshall would be doing far better than KA is

Define far better?
My money says with Marshall we win more than 8 games.
With Marshall we keep J3 and Teki.
With Marshall we have a slightly better recruiting class.
With Marshall, I don't think we still would have gotten Tatum but would have had a better chance.
All JMO obviously.

This is just an extension of the fiasco of last season. When you go 9-23, can't control your team and guys transfer out in droves after just one year of playing for you, that is referred to as ineptitude.
Anyone who's thinking it wasn't a huge mistake to hire this guy has black and yellow glasses on. The haters were right on target when they said you can't take a 60 year old career division 2 coach and turn him loose on what is supposed to be a nationally relevant program.

How is 2 guys transferring considered transferring out in Droves.
The team won 9 games last year, there weren't any irreplaceable players on the roster. Just makes it a little harder in the program building process. If KA can do it that's the question.

It was 3 guys, and our two best players.
What's he plan on doing if he can't get these non-irreplaceable to stick around.
He already admitted he was pretty much out of his element last season:
The thing about this job, being the head coach at the University of Missouri is an unbelievable honor and an unbelievable opportunity. Along with that comes an unbelievable responsibility. There's a responsibility for not only your players, but to the alumni and the fans and the media. So you've got that responsibility. Well here's something I learned, probably moreso than anything. I can't be responsible to every person. I can't go to every speaking engagement that people ask me to go. I went to 75 speaking engagements last year from May 1st to about October. I just can't do it.

My first responsibility is to the University of Missouri and the basketball program and taking care of the players and being around them. You have to learn how to prioritize your time. Now I don't think it was inexperience, and I don't think it had a whole lot to do with coaching. I know some people would say "What is he doing?" or "Why is this team like this?" I think it has more to do with production and that's why we are doing a lot more individual skill stuff, and helping guys get better individually so we can then incorporate that as a team.

You have to do a lot of self evaluation and you have to look at all phases of the program, and that's what we've done. We looked at the basketball part of the program. What do we need to do on the floor and in the weight room and with conditioning. When you don't have a good year I think you even evaluate things more. So I've had discussions with every person that touches this program. Everything from facilities to budgeting to marketing to promotions to athletic training to equipment to media relations to every little thing that touches this program. When I came in here I kind of took a step back and evaluated things for the year. I evaluated how do we do this, how do we do this. And now I have a much better idea of how we need to do this and hopefully we can put that plan in place and be successful in all phases of our program and most importantly down on the floor and in the classroom.

This whole thing is a shite show. I am not sure KA will be given the opportunity to dig out. This seems like a 3/4 years away thing, at best.

KA is fired after this season without a doubt. They went with a guy who was too old, too inexperienced, too cheap, and they're paying for it. I had hope, and even wavered a bit in my KA is the wrong guy for the job stance at the beginning of last season, but now it seems like full on torch and pitchfork time.
15 games is the bar, if he doesn't win 15 games, he will be getting a lot of time in on the golf course.

Warm up the money boosters....because this will be the last season Gregg has with his prized seniors VanFleet and Baker. I don't care what it takes, pay him all the money. Pitch being close to wichita for family stuff, midwest appeal, opportunity to build the program.

He is NOT getting fired after this season. Rhoades already showed he's not apt to come in and do that by extending the contract of baseball's TJ. Besides that, KA deserves more than 2 years whether I liked the hire or not and no matter the bad that has happened.

Can't fire a guy after 2 years minus some sort of off the court scandal. 3 is even pushing it but with no measurable improvement that might be the case.

Except Bama went after him hard last year and upped the ante. It would probably take more now than we are willing to pay. And I'm ok with that. It would honestly take more than I think it's prudent to pay.
I'd guess somewhere in the $4.5M-$5M range.

4.5-5 seems about right, and worth it IMO. Also..Mizzou has way better facilities, appeal than Bama.
Sure they upped the ante...but its no secret he wanted more money, everyone does.
Most seem to think he was waiting on a blue blood job, but I'm not so sure. The only one coming up will be Syracuse, and I'm not sure he would go there.
