Hansbrough played 3 plays. He will be able to make up for some of the OL issues. And similar to last year I expect the OL to be descent. That the position where other than Boehm Mizzou has rarely gotten high end recruits.

did you see where they think AJ Harris might be the next Evan Boehm, thus another reason to move Abelyn, anyway if that's true Harris, Lock, TBJ will make the 15 class something beyond special. Like you, I think the Oline will "come around", it's sad we are even discussing it though.

biggest takeaway....O Line looked terrible. With Boehm and Hansbrough out, running game was relatively nonexistent. SEMO is a middling FCS team at best, and our O-line struggled with them.

Punt/kick returns: Murph was really something special. I'll take a year with no fumbles as positive. Fatony had a heck of a leg on kickoffs. Decent punts too. Baggett was solid.

WR: Young receivers are young. Had a few great plays...but also had signs of growing pains. Particularly on the drive where Mauk's 2nd INT got overturned. Mauk threw the ball expecting Blair to cut across instead of continuing upfield into the safety. When it got overturned, Mauk threw the ball to the outside, and you could see him visibly disgusted with Brown for cutting 5 yards late. Did see some good things, particularly the TD catches. ON the opposite side, multiple easy drops. Talent is obviously there...just need some real game time experience.

Mauk: Showed more poise in the pocket than last year. Really dumb 1st INT. After that, played pretty well, given the Oline breakdowns and no running game. So good with the deep ball. 12-22 isn't terrible, especially considering a couple of those drops. 12-22 is 54%. Make just 2 of those drops completions and that becomes 63%. There was alot of good from his performance...but 2-3 moments of Bad Mauk. Would still like to see him scramble a bit more. Pretty solid overall, given the O-line struggles.

Lock: Really good first drive. Started 4-4 finding open receivers in the intermediate game. Couldn't finish with a TD, but great opening drive. The rest of the game was 2-6, with a screen pass and the broken play touchdown. Was really glad to see Hunt get that TD. Coaches kept his drives simple, as expected. Solid debut.

RB: Disappointing. No running game. Pray Hansbrough gets and stays healthy.

Defense: Awesome. Linebackers especially. DLine depth is still a little scary. Cannot afford any injuries. Dennis and Brothers tore it up.

Overall: Defense looking top notch...although it wasn't exactly a high octane opponent. Offense was OK. Mauk looked good besides 3 "bad Mauk" moments. Oline was awful. Need to see improvement from OL and WR next week.
