We just saw it play out with Knox and to a lesser degree with this WR.

Huge difference between these two situations. Any guess what?

We had no business even being involved with Knox, that was the definition of a Hail Mary.

JQ is happy just having a football team. 5 wins? We're in the SEC we cant expect much more than that apparently. Facts are Mizzou hasn't paid up for coaches in the past, Sterk showed he was willing to open the wallet for a Basketball coach, let's hope he does the same for a Football coach after BO stinks up the place.

GP was pretty well paid. He was in the top half of the SEC in salary.
BO's first season was similar to the first at Mizzou for GP, he also cost Mizzou 1-2 wins by making rookie coach mistakes. I want to see how this year plays out before really starting to make a judgement on BO.

Basically what you just spent 3 pages arguing. We can't compete with anyone outside Kentucky and Vandy.

Well TC, in another thread I quoted:
quote:

"Getting rid of a delusion makes us wiser than getting hold of a truth"- Ludwig Borne.

While I am not saying JQ is delusional, he has a bottomless Santa bag full of sunshine drenched excuses, rationalizations and selectively chosen facts which upon first glance looking out of the corner of you eye appear logical and in some circumstances they are and he is correct.

However, you succinctly point out what I have been ranting about for some time now.

What is more frustrating than sunshine pumping alone is to at the same time reiterate perceived reasons/excuses for why "good things" for MU FB really cannot be expected to happen. While this subtle form of hypocrisy is not the sole cause of my ire, what is aggravating is that not only is the expectations bar being set low(perhaps rightly so) "some" lay the groundwork for acceptance and act indignant to the idea that others would "demand & expect" much better and the bottom line is that not only can the bar be raised it should be raised.

Lol, no. Basically doesn't fly.

In fact, here is what I said verbatim

quote:

Success here is going to look like...consistent Bowl team. Occasionally have the stars align and being competitive for the league. The last two years have been bad. We can and should be better than that. Absolutely.

Walk me through the mental gymnastics you used to come up with me being happy with 5 wins.

If we have 5 wins this year, you'll be here to polish up that turd. Guaranteed.

I am sure he has already pocketed the "lingering racial tensions" excuse/polishing rag for future use.

I didn't polish this one. Why would I polish any other?

Y'all have a serious reading comprehension problem.
