Like I said...no talent no tackling secondary! A simple out route turns into 6 points and the receiver wasn't touched for 59 yards.

Which is why we need a HC that can recruit better and get us deeper with talent. BO is not recruiting well.

We need a HC that can bring better position coaches. No one wants to work for BO. And if you keep him Ellarbee probably jumps ship because of BO's hot seat, and he's the best postion coach.

There is no chance the program gets better without recruits and better position coaching.

Most in conference yards UGA has put up since 42.

Nice Barry. Send them a "you're welcome" card after the game.

The secondary is a complete mess and calling Walters a coordinator is using the term quite loosely.

#47 is so slow.

And is either blown out of hole, or takes wrong angle on nearly every play

Garrett shouldn't be playing MLB on a SEC team. I was a little surprised when the staff didn't pursue some of the available JUCO LBs after the play last year. The next coach is going to have to address that position.

I think Garrett does ok against the run, but he shouldn't be asked to cover anyone outside of 5 yards off the LOS.

He just doesn't have the athletic ability to do it.

He has zero margin on his reads. He plays his arse off but you can't be half a step off vs the interior linemen he faces in the league while worrying about getting back in coverage.

It's not all on him either. The front 4 has created very little disruption and the secondary continually looks unprepared for what aren't very complex offenses.

Garrett is the epitome of Mizzou recruiting. All along he is told he is too slow to play for Mizzou. So he decides to go to Navy. Then on NSD he is offered (Did he somehow get faster?) Then this slow linebacker shoots up the depth chart as a true freshman, because as slow as he is, he's still better than what we have. Then he earns the starting position, and guess what, he's a good kid but too slow.

Number of UGA punts last night...ONE. And that was in the 4th Qtr.

Barry, the defensive genius.

They needed a body and gambled on a well coached instate kid. Little decommitted leaving Baldwin the only LB in the class. Hall is playing faster but they need a better athletes than Garrett and Burkett on the two deep. Beisel looks nothing like he did the last 6 games of 2016 when he is in the game. The positional recruiting starting with the 2013 class hasn't produced much.

Let's be honest, Odom recruited the 15, 16, and 17 classes as DC/HC.

He hasn't developed a single play maker outside TBJ, and honestly, he should be better.

Odom was announced as DC on 12/23/2014, right in the middle of the dead period that didn't end until 1/12/2015.

Odom played no role in recruiting the 2015 class, if we are being honest.

You're right, probably why it was ranked so high.

It was ranked high because there were 6 4* players in the class. Lock and Beckner are the only two that have done anything. None of the 3 4* RBs are on the roster and the 4* OL isn't on the two deep. 5 other players in the class are no longer on the roster either.

I disagree that's why it was ranked that way. Most of that ranking came from 2 of the 4*'s, Lock and TBJ. Strong didn't even qualify.

The class itself looks pretty good honestly.

Contributing players from 2015:

Emanuel Hall looks pretty good wouldn't you say?
Terez Hall looks to be our best LB
Terry Beckner Jr looks to be our best DT
Tyler Howell was a starter till recently (still don't know the reason for this)
Jonathan Johnson has been a good WR in the slot
Marcell Frazier is our best DE
Perkins is a starting Safety
Corey Fatony has been the MVP
and of course Drew Lock

2015 class has been very adequate. Every class has attrition and guys who don't qualify or get booted.

The problem is the 2014 Class:
28 Commits

Witter
Wilson
Lee
Cheadle
Pendleton
Blanton

Only 6 guys who see the field

That was the class that tanked this team.

Odom's 16/17 classes are too early to tell, a lot are getting snaps, but a lot of them look underwhelming and lacking speed/talent/strength, what I would expect from classes that barely broke the top 50.

Odom's defensive recruits have been pretty underwhelming.

You can disagree with rivals if you want but Strong counted toward the average star rating and composite scores the class. Beckner was the only 4* in the class not rated as a 5.8. Lock's overall impact on the class score was the same as the other players.

You are moving the goal posts. This has nothing to do with the 2015 recruiting rankings.

The issue isn't just one class.

The previous staff recruited 27 total linemen from 2013-2015. 18 are no longer on the roster and only 4 are starters. Teams that win in this league don't have that kind of miss rate in the trenches. Especially teams built on talent development.

I do think this team, particularly the back end of the defense, has been poorly coached/prepared. I also don't think that the 66% miss rate on linemen and overall LB recruiting can be shrugged off.

It's going to take care of itself one way or another.

Odom's defensive recruits are either FR or SO.

If you are in the business of developing, which we are, then you really don't know yet.
