It's not all talent, maybe the most undisciplined group I've ever seen. Ends constantly lose contain, secondary can't stay in their zone or cover the guy in their zone, constantly allow people to be matched up on our slowest linebackers, and they still cant tackle. Blitz 4 guys and still dont get to the QB.

For the record, defense is allowing 48% of 3rd down conversions, 121st in the country

It'll be two straight years with 590 yards given up per game from the D "wiz". That alone is a fire able offense

Yes, 3rd down defense is brutal. Had a couple of 3rd and longs to open the game and converted them.
The pass rush is the major difference. It's non existent now.

Can't tackle! Lack of talent on that side of the ball. When they run the ball up the middle we stop them. Outside? They kill us, cause our DB's can't cover or tackle! Our D is just butt ugly!

Technically Barry Odom has been recruiting this defense for 3 years so its hardly surprising that there is no talent on it.

Tackling is technique, not talent. Talent gets you to the ball, but tackling is technique. And Mizzou does not have it. And that lack of technique is COACHING! Or lack thereof.

Sorry this team reeks of more then just not having the right Jimmies and Joes. This team is not just getting out ran nor ran over. They are out of position or in position and missing tackles. They also have horrible discipline at EVERY position on the field. This is not a spunky group who is out manned but gives great effort. This is an out manned team that has horrible effort and technique.

Gotta get a coach that can keep Mizzou in the top 35 of recruiting. Need some size and speed. Recruiting in the 50's means you're giving up some of the physical attributes you need in the SEC. And is it me, or does everyone seem less muscular and fit since Ivey left?
