Missed the game but sounded like another wild one.
Zobrist has been the MAN for this team. Can't believe he took Chapman yard to tie the game. Z-Man

The Royals are destroying my sleep schedule. I love it

Two outta four in Boston aint bad! I'll take it. It looks like maybe this team is starting to heat up the bats?
One question though. This whole "catcher blocking the plate" rule is garbage. I totally don't get it. I can accept the rule, but the catcher was blocking home plate both times. So if they are not allowed to block home plate, I assume to cut down on collisions, the only reason there were not two collisions today was because our baserunners slid. Otherwise there would have been collisions as thier catcher was smothering, literally, home plate.

I think the rule is just dumb. There is really no way to enforce it clearly unless you mandate that the catcher has to be standing at all times on a play at the plate, or at least set up on the side.

The umps need to start calling this shite. Pandamans run up the inside of the firstbase line is another missed call. The ump during last weeks series with the Angels where he blew three calls, all overturned. They need to send these guys to umpiring school is there is such a thing.

Fun inning to watch lastnight. Moose is starting to play out of his mind. Rois and Infante are coming around. Need Gordo back to top it off.
What did you think of Medlen's start?

Didn't get to see the game but I've been a big Medlen fan. Made a bad pitch to Adam Jones that cost him 2 runs but he went 6 innings on 69 pitches and only one other run.

Medlen is going to be the man. He has to be a good luck charm of sorts. What was he like 23 straight wins in a row when he pitched for ATL? I know he didn't actually get the W in all of those, but Medlen + Royals = that 6th inning last night on his first go around.
Coincidence?

Honestly if Medlen stays healthy, my bet is he will be the Royals best starter/ace next year.

Cueto...c'mon man! Get it together!
Oh and does Guthrie survive much longer? I definitely don't see him being on the playoff roster.

You guys getting Gordon back soon.Ready for the stretch run to October.Royals and Cardinals looking strong.

Gordo looked good yesterday. Cueto, not so much.
The Royals need to keep picking up the wins to keep home field throughout the playoffs. I think NYY and Tor still play each other 7 times, so that should be helpful, but man Toronto is really en fuego.

Cueto will be fine I think. He has one of the best pitching coaches in baseball to help him out of his slump. If not, there's always J-Guts or Chris Young. But I don't see that happening. I think Cueto will work it out just like Ventura did.

Our starting pitching is just awful. It would appear that using days to rest guys has derailed the momentum. It is probably time to get some consistent lineups in there until we have at least clenched home field throughout the playoffs. Toronto is only 4 games back.

Good point.
This all started when we started the rest rotation thing.
It'll be interesting to see what this team and Yost does with their backs against the wall.
It starts now.

This is exactly what is happening.
The Royals are fine. They threw off their rhythm by resting guys and playing backups. That's perfectly OK with me. Get the bench guys some experience for the playoffs. Then start playing our playoff lineup about 3 weeks before the playoffs begin to get them back in gear.
I'm not concerned at all. The Royals know what they're doing...fans need not panic. Only real concern right now is Cueto...and I think he'll figure it out. The AL is a harder league to pitch in and it's gonna take him an adjustment period which we've already seen him going through. He should be good by the ALDS.

The pitching is starting to concern me. I'm hopeful it is a short term slump but we are only three up on Toronto now...
