I think Mizzou has only had 7-8 games with over 70K in attendance. The new capacity will be around 65K after the coming renovations. 63-65K probably needs to be the goal for conference games.
It’s also going to take a couple really good years to get most of those that left due to the protest, to start coming again.

Basketball is suffering for the same reason. That gosh darn protest

No basketball wasn’t affected by the protest.
The university as a whole was, see lower attendance numbers.
Then football is really the only athletic team that’s suffered. That’s because it’s the team that actually protested.

Lol. So the university suffered. And football suffered. But basketball escaped. It’s almost like it’s not being driven nearly as much by the protests as you are intimating.

Oh it’s not all on the protest, but attendance struggles are largely a result of the protest.
Without the protest, better coaches would have been interested in the job. Instead Rhodes basically had interest from BO, Wells from USU, Calhoun from AF, and Dykes from Cal.
Wells has had 2 straight losing seasons, and Dykes has been fired.

Or...Get this.
College enrollment has been declining for five straight years across the country. Probably add in another since the stats were last run. Because. Also get this. Rising tuition costs, cheaper CC college costs, and selecting jobs over schooling.
Mizzou didn't lose thousands to the protests. Stop. Please. It's because it's getting ridiculous in the $$$ to shell out to attend among other things. THe protests are down on the list.
MU are fickle fans and fickle fans don't blow money on shite FB product for the third straight year.

Well if 65k is the number, there were 50k at Mo State and 55k at USCe, so with a good hire a renewed hope and a couple of recruiting gets, we could open 2018 between 65-70K.
I think Wilson gets us to 62K
Strong 70-75K.
Candle 65K

That won’t be possible, this is the last season with 71K capacity.

Well give the fans some hope and its even easier to fill up the stadium.

The thought occurred to me today... How quickly would BO accept a 5-7 bowl invitation that Pinkel withdrew Mizzou from consideration two years ago?

After 5-7:
Bowl Committee: "We'd like to invite y..."
Barry: "YES!! Uh...what bowl is it, by the way?"

Attendance is down everywhere.

That’s part of the thought process with the SEZ. Capacity will drop 6K when it’s done, but with the suites Mizzou will be able to make an extra $5 million. Also during construction next seasons capacity will be around 60k.
Ultimately BO will need to get 4-5 wins over the final 6 games or he will likely be gone. That’s possible if Kentucky is the baseline for how Mizzou plays over that stretch. if Kentucky is the best Mizzou plays, then it will be a struggle to get more than 2 wins in that stretch.

I agree. If we stop sucking then we won't suck. But based on performance so far, I'm betting on continuing suckage.

If Mizzou was undefeated going into that Auburn game I guarantee you that there would have been close to 70k people there. I was there, there was still 50k plus watching an abortion.

This would certainly be the best win-win scenario for everyone provided BO is the guy that can do it. The naysayers certainly have the evidence (our W-L record) to say he isn't the guy but I'm in your court right now.

Curious
What has BO accomplished in your opinion that has you believing he is the right man for the job?

What have I said that would lead you to believe that I think that? I only said that BO succeeding is the best scenario for all concerned and IMO it is. Having to start over with a new HC INITIALLY benefits no one.
I have repeatedly said that not every coach is CEO material and BO may or may not be CEO material; his W-L record currently indicates he isn't but that doesn't mean I don't want him to succeed bc I do.
