We are forgetting one thing. Mack knew GP was retiring well before anyone else. He could have met with someone before his schedule was so closely watched, to gauge their interest and the fit. This could have been ironed out before any of us even knew it was happening. Now, he could just be biding his time, doing the due diligence and keeping the heat off his target. And making sure he is willing to bet on his guy and risk alienating the big money faction that wants to see Odom get his shot.

I don't know. But he could have quietly met with someone before anyone knew there was an opportunity.

I have seen this mentioned, but I doubt that would be true. Odom has hired Walters twice. Once here and once at Memphis. It would be smart to try keeping Kul. Maybe 1 of the offensive coaches.

I don't know where this Dykes stuff started, but forget it.

He's not in play here.

He interviewed earlier today. Doesn't mean much, but that's where it started.

I don't think Richt is coming here either.

A name recently being discussed on PM with much speculation is Gary Patterson.

He's also shopping for coaches.

If plan A is a go there will be wholesale changes for sure on offense.

Defense will depend on Odoms move.

Patterson isn't in a CG either.

I don't see it being Herman. There is zero talk outside of mizzou boards of any thing happening with him here at all. And he wants TX, knows it will open up. What would be the point of getting for a year anyway.

That leaves Fedora. I could see it. Sanctions are coming at NC and his stock is not likely to ever be higher. Probably wants SEC. But what about SC and GA? Both are much closer to home.

One of the few names that would get me more excited than Richt.

Well, Georgia isn't an option anymore.
