Do they have a weight room? Strength and Conditioning coach? Practice facility? Good cafeteria? Yes. If we want to go all out like the SEC how about we fill the stadium to the max every game in COMO then build a bigger stadium.

I want to be Missouri. I don't care about other programs. I can't stand people wanting to fit in to the SEC, because we just won't. The culture is different.

There is nothing wrong with being different. Be Mizzou, because that is who we are.

and we will never compete with Alabama doing what Alabama does. Thats just a reality. Our differences are the best things going for us.

It's not about building a "bigger" stadium. It's about building a better one. The South EZ project that was on the table wouldn't have increased capacity, but it would of made a huge difference in the look and feel of the stadium.

Been to any other SEC stadiums? I have. Ours, frankly, sucks. The East side expansion was well done, but the rest of the stadium is in desperate need of update/renovation. Some minor, a lot major.

If I see this, so do recruits. It matters. A lot.

Of course they care about that. They care about numerous things. They also care about facilities.

I don't think schools spend millions on them just cuz. They do it to help recruit the best athletes. Same way on the academic side:

Was there ever an actual rendering of the south EZ project? Or is the theory of what that project would have been, the basis.

Agreed. Pretending that having a below average stadium is OK, in arguably the best conference in College football, remains laughable.

The South EZ project would have been a very nice step, in addressing many of those needs.

We have a pretty decent stadium. The South EZ needs an upgrade, but other than that, its in pretty darn good shape. Locker rooms too, but that doesn't affect fan atmosphere.

The problem is we don't have a committed fan base that fills it. Increasing capacity certainly won't make that any better. The stadium design is actually quite good, creating a valley to keep sound in.

The problem is that we don't have very good fans.

That might be a hard pill to swallow for some of you, but we don't, and that is the problem.

There are some pretty shitty stadiums that have great atmospheres.

Having shitty facilities is not going to help us. I have no problem with mizzou being mizzou but having subpar facilities should not be should not be part of how we just be ourselves. That is unless you forever are ok with an ok experience in an ok facility watching an ok team.

Kids care about that but every school puts kids in the league. A different sport but I can tell you facilities matter to high school kids. My son has already commented on how mizzous baseball facilities would be a step down from his high school

Mizzou facilities are not average by any means

Maybe, but that's probably generous. Think about that.

Numerous issues with the stadium. I don't have to list them. You guys go to games. Again, if anyone has been to some other SEC stadiums you'd know what I'm talking about.

I completely agree. Mizzou has a soft fanbase, but any renovation to the stadium does not neccesarily mean increased capacity. Hell, I'd be in favor of removing the bleachers and replacing them with actual seats and that would decrease capacity. 75k would be a good number for us once all is said and done.

The real misstep here is the plan Rhoades is putting into action is going to replace the things we have that are "pretty decent" and doesn't address the areas in desperate need of renovation.

South EZ needs to be tore down and completely redone. West side (if you are going to do it right) needs some pretty major work done as well. It would be great if they tore down the press box and mirrored what was done on the east side. I'd like to see some things done in the North EZ as well. Ever since they redid the hill the scoreboard looks very out of place. It's too small and it's way too far away from the field. I'd also like to see permanent seating on the hill and keep people off the rocks during games. It looks good now, why cover it up when we are on TV? And fof fricks sake put in an audible sound system. It's fricking terrible. This doesn't even address infrastructure projects for fan experience.

I could go on all day, but suffice to say there is major work that needs to be done and major money that needs to be spent. Tearing down and rebuilding the IPF, and building another MATC (still shared facility) doesn't improve us much, doesn't address the real issues and in fact only sets us further behind in doing it.

He's making a huge mistake.

Capacity is 71K right now, and it's still not consistently sold out.
