I would disagree. I think he made a great hire in football. His hands are effectively tied in hoops at this point.

As for donations and fan support, that has little or nothing to do with him right now. Pretty historic negative we just had. You can't downplay it.

Seems like he did a great job at Houston. That's why he got this job. I doubt he just all of a sudden doesn't know what he's doing.

Both ADMR and HCKA are still playing the pitiful cards that ALDEN gave to them. Alden took a long big dump and said bye-bye. I'm off to play professor. Which is a crock unto itself.

Then the FB team played their boycott and GP had cancer. I say give ADMR a frickin' break because he hasn't had one yet.

My only minor bitch is that I want to see cranes in the air over the South End Zone.

Alden is the BB's "Babs Uheling". How long did that frickin' mess take to clean-up?

What has he done positively?

How could he have done anything?

Energized fan support?

Both major teams sucked. Neither were his hires. No one will be excited by an AD anyways, but he hasn't had a chance to make his own stamp yet.

quote:

Brought in amazing personnel?

TBD. BO has seemingly brought in a pretty solid staff, and the rest are holdovers from the previous AD. Most non-revenue sports coaches are established and solid.

quote:

Increased fundraising?

Impossible to measure from the protests. I don't have the July-September numbers, but that is all we can legitimately grade him on.

quote:

Skillfully navigated the media?

Navigate what? Stupid kids boycotting due to a sham protest is impossible to navigate skillfully. It is pure shite.

He has faced some difficult situations. I see nothing that inspires confidence in his handling of any of them.

He hasn't even been on the job a year yet. He is still 4 months away from hitting the 1 year mark. AD's don't have drastic things happen often.

The new softball stadium/new football parking project seems to be going well. Working on upgrades to the South endzone is going well. Hiring/firing is negligible, as his only hire is in his first spring practice.

You seem to be laying a lot of blame at Mack's feet for things not in his control. He has a proven record of success at other major universities.

He may have made a great hire. But I could've made that hire. Odom wanted to be there. We got him. There's no ability or talent necessary to make that hire.

I agree, that needs to get started but it's kind of hard to do so when you have a 60% drop in donations and on top of that the state is cutting your funding.

You want to be pissed about that kind of thing then you can blame the four clowns on the football team that started this whole mess.

Perhaps...but if he turns out to be a legendary coach, you have to give him credit for making it. Its not sexy or exciting...but whether it is good or bad is tbd.

He needs to restore fan confidence in the university first and the AD second. He needs to be proactively marketing the university and AD as part of that.

In due time. ADMR has had nothing but "fires erupting" since day one with a lot of thanks to frickin' Alden. Boycott, cancer. Damn, he's not Superman.

I agree. If it turns out to be a great hire, Mack gets the credit.

Missouri alums and/or fans are, frankly, sick and tired of being average-at-best in sports (dog shite-lousy this last year).

So...

Mack has a to-do list for the next year that should keep him busy.

1. Deal with Jamie. Are we gonna continue to be fair-to-middlin' in baseball? TJ should be gone.

2. Earlywine has got to stop being such a prick. He treats the girls like shite, scares off recruits, and comes off as the worst crybaby in softball history. (I get it that he can win...but, notice, not the big ones. He throws the ace pitchers to death before the tourney)

3. Track and Field needs a kick in the arse. Halter has done little of note. He's even lost the top throwers that kept the team scores in the running for years.

There's other non-rev issues, albeit not wrestling, but I'm tired of grouching for now. :)

Completely disagree. Lots of fans love it. The best love the competitive attitude he puts off. Quasi-baseball fans love coming to games because it is essentially the same sport with more action, and they don't have our team yelling those obnoxious and stupid cheers.

Can't say the team feels that way. Know families of multiple members, and they all love Coach E's attitude.

I would assert that firing Kim Anderson and finding a home run coach would be tough, considering the looming NCAA stuff and APR issues. "Hey, we have reduced recruiting capacity and we might have further sanctions on the way. Hello? I think we have a bad connection. Hello? shite, not again..."

It could be tough. If we're waiting a year to hire a homerun hire, fine. If we're waiting a year to hire Romar or Mike Anderson pt. 2, lets just move on now.

We will never know the truth. Let's move forward.

I usually agree with you on alot of things here, but not this one. The man has had alot to deal with in year 1, and almost all AD's would have an unimpressive first year after the firestorm Mizzou went through. This thread is premature, and I don't think you are being fair to the man.

I don't think he's saying a final verdict. Just unimpressed so far.

He's had 3 semi-major decisions to date. Baseball, football and basketball coaches. Baseball was a fail. Football was a decision that any AD could have pulled off. Basketball may have had no choice. Nothing yet, repeat yet, that makes you think damn glad he's here because not many could have pulled that off
