Gabe said he has a line on who the front runner is but I don't have my Power Mizzou subscription anymore. Some friends who are not reliable have said Les Miles but I don't believe them.

I would guess Brick Haley from Texas. I know he and Odom have some connections.

It has to found on another source and linked. Leaking info from a paid insider source is a dbag move. Surely it'll come out soon enough.

Brick Haley would be an outstanding addition. He has some deep recruiting ties in Texas and we are working hard to get back in the area.

Meh. Can't cut copy and paste it. But as I see it...as soon as you put it out there for public consumption, paid for or not, he has to expect and accept that word will spread. I can respect it if someone chooses not to share but I also don't see it as a dbag move.

Guy's last two jobs were at LSU and Texas.

Sounds like Texas AM tried hiring him earlier this year.

Coached DL in the NFL.

From Alabama, long time spent in Louisiana and Texas.

Has added patience from raising an autistic son. (Should have the restraint to not slap people).

Sounds like a diamond.

It's not a "dbag move". I actually signed up after someone posted a screenshot of a thread I wanted to read on TB.

It's a pretty good site, there's some insight from posters that aren't on here and TB, you can glean some new info around there.

Haley coming to Missouri would answer some questions people have had about him. He has had a stacked position room at both LSU and Texas. He wouldn't have that luxury in Columbia.

how successful (or not successful) were his lines at LSU and Texas? If he wasn't successful at either one of those schools which are constantly loaded with the best talent, why would we assume he would be successful at Mizzou, a wannabe football program that cannot recruit the best talent?

He had some reasonable success, IMO.

I think he's got a pretty good resume.
His resume is probably better than anyone else in consideration. That doesn't mean he's the best coach.

I tend to be brutal in my words, but what I'm saying is if he wasn't successful at LSU or Texas, why do we believe he'll suddenly be successful at Mizzou?

Come on, fellas. Something stinks about him and you all know it.

Do not want.

The 2013 season is the only one since Haley returned to CFB that his room didn't have a player record double digit TFLs and Anthony Johnson had 9. That season was the only one where the team didn't have at least 70 TFLs.

The question has always been was it the available talent or his coaching.

What did he fail at accomplishing?

I dont think he failed at either school.

It's quite possible that he can bump the recruiting in his room and not rely on having RsJRs and Srs filling the two deep.

He would be inheriting a pretty thin room with far less talent than he has had at any point in the last 8 years. He would need a little time to restock.

If he can recruit and land all the stud STL DLs in 2018, he will be super successful.

Mizzou really needs to clean up in state next year.

IMO, the question is...Does he have a good track record in coaching up the type of player Mizzou will recruit. If he needs his DE's to be 6'4 280 and fast, he should stay with a blueblood program that will get those recruits. Mizzou guys need to be coached up, they play at 250-260 at DE, they play with speed. If he has a record of coaching this style of player then take him, if not wouldn't it be better to go after someone who fits our style better?
