Speaking of the QBs and O in general all the reports right now are wayyyyyy better than they were this time last year. Mauk and the 1s couldnt score TDs in the Spring and Summer. Wideouts could not get separation. This year MM is moving the ball better and I have heard tons of great things regarding the wideouts. I know there is a hype train with Lock (I love his talent but would rather see MM and EP play before Lock this year, don't trust Frosh against the SEC) but Mauk is at least having better numbers this off season than last.

Offense has so many more weapons than last year.

In the last scrimmage Mauk was the only QB to get first team reps. Pretty clear indication.
With the improvement from Printz & Zanders, as well as what Lock could bring Mauk won't survive a 3-4 game stretch like he had last year.

Those guys will be able to push Mauk.

I understand where you are coming from here however just a gut feeling I think it would take ALOT to get Pinks to sit MM. I think he is willing to let any position where an established starter be unseated by someone else except for the QB position. I cannot remember a time where Pink benched his starter for under-performing. Unless MM gets hurt or we are blowing a team out I would not expect to see another QB play this year. It would have to be a string of bad losses to make it happen, not just bad play.

Well Mauks struggles last year also came when he was injured. GP could use that as a reason to switch QBs. I don't think he does, just give Mauk some motivation maybe.

GP did bench a couple QBs while he was at Washington for underperforming.

I think Mauk plays all season barring injury.

The fact that there's a hint of a QB controversy will make this even more likely, IMO.

If Mauk throws 3 picks in a game and we lose. He still starts the next week.

He'll have to do that for 2-3 weeks in a row to get unseated.

He has the mess up, a lot. Or get hurt.

Everybody knows it.

Lock's the best all around leader and qb on the team with the highest ceiling and arguably the best skills right now.

But it won't happen.

And it will be interesting to see what happens with the quality, but not excellent, quarterbacks between Mauk and Lock on the chart. What happens if Printz does well, or Zanders looks like Brad Smith. How do you unseat them for the truest son of all time, Drew Lock?

I wouldn't be surprised if Zanders doesn't get a few plays at QB this season.

He is by far the best QB at running the read option, so could get a few plays here & there.

Printz graduates this year, so it's probably his last. He can go the grad transfer and play 2 as a starter somewhere.

I see that happening too.

I like the guy.

Says all the right things.

But he's probably gone next year.

Zanders won't play much if at all barring injury. Printz plays before him and I wouldn't be surprised if both went down that GP would then go with the experience of Berk.

Not going to happen Berk has been a loyal Tiger but it is obvious the staff has buried him in the depth chart for a reason

Might be right but if both Mauk and Printz went down week 1, I'm not sure how comfortable I am with Zanders having the reins for a whole year. Personally, would be more comfortable with the maturity and experience of Berk.

I would take Zanders over Printz in a second, because Printz has no mobility and most of his passes look like wounded ducks.

Then he has regressed significantly. I haven't seen much tape from this camp but coming into Mizzou he probably threw as good a ball or better than anyone on the roster now. I agree, he's not as mobile but is just more of a pocket passer. Maybe because of Mauk's running backwards I've really wanted to see someone who knows how to step up in the pocket more.

According to scrimmage reports Lock throws the best most catchable ball on the team.

Berk has a big arm but lacks accuracy.

Printz has a great motion, nice touch just not as much as Lock, nor as mobile as Zanders or Mauk.
