Your defending back to back SEC East champions took the field for the first day of fall camp today looking to 3peat.

Depth Chart

Your Captains Boehm, Hansbrough, Simon and Dennis LINK

Justin Smith is now an asst S&C coach. The DL coaching just got stronger.

@rockmnation: Mizzou fans might be happy to hear Kenya Dennis say Barry Odom has the corners playing up/aggressive a lot more vs when Dave Steckel was DC

@rockmnation: The last person I saw come off the practice field is TE Sean Culkin, seems to be working to hone catching skills.

Morrison article. Mostly enjoyed the part on Justin Smith joining the staff.

I think the one guy that really doesn't get mentioned a lot and can help us

quote:

Johnathon Johnson, you say?: "He runs real crisp routes. I feel like he's caught the ball pretty well and hasn't really dropped anything. He's just looking real smooth in and out of his breaks."

J'Mon Moore argued w/ a coach in the weight room this summer. Moore: "Once you break that #Mizzou code, you drop in the depth chart."

J'Mon Moore: "I understand what I did & I understand my punishment...I just want to get my spot back. I have to earn the coaches trust back"

I figured something like that. He was the most impressive WR during the spring. He'll get that spot back.

Tennesse's famous Torchbearer statue

quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The torchbearer (without getting into too much detail) represents the academic side of the university or the university itself as opposed to simply the AD. - Prof (SEC Rant Tennessee poster)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Prof is correct, but notice how he refused to provide more information? There's a reason Prof is avoiding having to explain the true symbolism behind the University of Tennessee's famous Torchbearer statue that stands outside Neyland Stadium as proud champion of the university. There's FAR more symbolism in the Torchbearer than most realize.

The torch represents enlightenment thru knowledge and the torch bearer represents Heylel, otherwise known as Lucifer (the Morning Star), the perfect angelic being who encouraged humans to seek knowledge. Notice that the statue's male genitalia is slightly covered which symbolizes self awareness thru knowledge and rebellion against God.

Or does it?

Several times the Bible refers to both Heylel and Jesus as the Morning Star, which implies the Heylel and Jesus are the same being - Lucifer. Therefore one can conclude that 1) either Lucifer is completely misunderstood (due to misinterpretation of scripture) and in fact he isn't evil but rather God's servant who helps humans progress, or 2) the followers of Jesus (ie. Heylel) comprise the largest Satanic cult in the world and the University of Tennessee is a leading institution in Luciferian worship as indicated by their idolization of Heylel, the Torchbearer.

Just remember, before you take your photo in front of Tennessee's "Torchbearer" statue...you're standing in the midst of either Satan or Jesus, or both. And until the rapture occurs, there's no way to know for certain whether you are idolizing a statue that represents pure evil or pure love.

However, for people who believe that Tennessee long ago sold their soul to the Devil...they may actually be right!

The more you know.

I hope you're right Kills. I'm not sure what to expect. I thought we'd have a big drop off last year (7-5 to 9-3) but they totally exceeded expectation even after laying that rotten egg against Indy.

KC Star article on camp. Video interview with Steward. If I were forced to read body language, I'd bet he actually is close to 100% and playing without limitations.

Bit on the DLine and Odom as well.

Matter article.

Injury update. Simon - Hammy. Crawford - Back. Steward - Hip. Of more concern IMO is Bauer has been out because of a hip. When he had that hip issue way back when he was committed to Ole Miss, it was believed that the injury could be congenital, which means it may never go away and he may never play again. Hope that's not the case, but with it being a hip again and having heard it's congenital, it's a little concerning, though we have numbers there moving forward.

QB Drew Lock rolled out to the right and threw a TD pass to WR Justin Smith. He made the catch near the end zone's front pylon. #MIZCamp

I think we're going to hear this a lot more in the years to come. Anyone hearing anything about how Smith is looking so far?

Good stuff here.

Good to see Brantley still being engaged, and Charles Harris is special. Dude is freaking huge and besides that he just has the personality/attitude that lends itself to success.

I was thinking Moore would surely take his starting spot back, but apparently Blair is having a ridiculous camp so far and making highlight reel catch after highlight reel catch.

Speaking of Fall camp....is there a whiter journalist out there than Ben Arnet. I laugh when he tries to pronounce some of the players names (african-american in nature). Noticed is particularly in the linked video

DeSean Blair....."Day Shawn".

I think that is the proper pronunciation
