This is not coming from the boosters. That's the impression I'm getting from Booster Boss.

Ok, she is strong headed and strong willed. Good, we need people that want to change things here. This athletic department, and institution as a whole feels like it's run by a bunch of teenage girls with all the drama. Clean house in the admin and BOC. Bring in people that are willing to be strong headed and willing to fight for their position on things. It is okay to disagree, even with the big money donors, and a bit of outside the box thinking should be embraced. What is the point in hiring an AD that isn't going to think and/or challenge status quo?

Again, this is not coming from the boosters. It appears to be internal.

That’s not the issue. I’m only hearing vague stuff so I’m not going to speculate beyond that I’m hearing she’s “embattled.” It is not booster related.

Also, here’s a twist on an unrelated subject. The contract extension for Drink - Drink’s brother is the President of the Mercy Hospital in Joplin and is tight with the Governor.

She’s not making any decisions either.

Gates was a great hire and that should protect her for at least 3 or 4 years.

Pretty sure she has 2 hires under her belt so far. What other decisions should she be making?

Drinkwitz’s future. But she wasn’t allowed.

Well, I think everyone knew Drink was going to come back. I think the raise/extension had to happen to keep the DC.

I think she also was involved in making Drink finally hire an OC.

Also all of this 'mystery' drama/rumor/politics about her are unsubstantiated.

No. But cool. It will either happen or it won’t.

The raise/extension was to get an OC and REDUCE the buyout.

Continue recruiting well, build a good staff, improve the on field performance, and be rewarded. Do none of those things, and you're gone. Classic Mailed Fist in a Velvet Glove.

You’re working under the assumption the raise/extension was DRF’s idea.

No, that's not my assumption at all. Someone did it, but I don't think it was her idea. I think the football program is completely beyond her control, virtually a separate entity. I also think the BB program is headed that way as well.

No actual facts, just hearsay.

I knew her hire would cause major butthurt with the good Ole boys. But damn

It is a very weird thread. The athletic director has no say in a program that she is responsible for. Check.

The athletic director has no say in the basketball program that she is responsible for getting back to a ranked status in record time. Check.

Sounds like whoever your source is ... is upset that DRF is actually having a successful start to her career at Mizzou. It's weird.
