They were talking about the DE battle and that the Jordan kid was turning heads. Wasn't he a walk-on?

I think he is still a walk on with no scholly. Im sure he will get one but im not sure he has yet.

Great incentive for everyone to play hard.

Tyler hunt should have been a starter last year but pinkel did not hold walkons with the same respect has odom obviously does.

Yes but isn't not like he was a no body. He was behind matt longacre (NFL) and Collin Bevins ( Former ISU player and future NFL Player). He had some really good coaching under Rich Wright.

Told y'all he was going to play. No idea how good he will be, but PM has said that they have heard for a while now how good he has looked in practice.

Little concerning that there's 4 walk-on's and 6 true FR in the two deep, no?

It makes me think the coaching staff can't really determine who should be starting until they see playing time. Worries me a bit, but also makes the future look good. This many freshmen getting experience should make 2017/18 positive eh?

Gabe DeArmond ? @GabeDeArmond
Odom says the depth chart “could change by Saturday. I guarantee you we’ll have 11 guys run out there on offense and 11 on defense."

Gabe DeArmond ? @GabeDeArmond
Odom on walk-on starting DE Jordan Harold: "there wasn't anybody out there outworking him."

Pete Scantlebury @PeteScantlebury
Odom said if they started today, Tucker McCann would be the kick-off guy. Says the competition between McCann and Turner Adams for PK cont.

Pete Scantlebury @PeteScantlebury
Odom says DeMarkus Acy, a freshman, can play all 5 secondary positions (2 CBs, 2 safeties, nickelback)

Pete Scantlebury @PeteScantlebury
Alex Ross, when asked if he had any advice for his teammates about playing in Morgantown: "Run. After the game, their fans are pretty crazy"

Pete Scantlebury @PeteScantlebury
Odom talks glowingly about WR Johnathon Johnson's maturity, said he has grown up. "I trust him. He knows our offense."

Gabe DeArmond ? @GabeDeArmond
Odom says #Mizzou will travel five tailbacks and probably play four. Crockett and Strong included in that.

Pete Scantlebury @PeteScantlebury
#Mizzou played three true freshmen defensive linemen last year; two aren't on the Week 1 depth chart (Josh Smith(probably means Josh Moore), Nate Howard)

Pete Scantlebury @PeteScantlebury
Odom cites off Lock's attributes that helped him win the starting job, but says Zanders also has a lot of the same attributes.

Blew his ACL out last year remember. He's still recovering from that I've read.

Great to see JJ where he is. I've been a huge believer in him since he signed. He's a playmaker.

Color me concerned with Harold at #1 DE. I'm more concerned by the stated reason. That's great he's out working everybody, but is he out talenting them? And if he is does that mean he's good, or that the other guys aren't. I just don't know on this one, but have to trust the coaches for now.

Also sucks that Warren got hurt. Gibson is...well, he's soft. Maybe less run responsibilities will benefit him though.

Anyway, good to finally have this and let's play some fricking football!!!

Yep.

I think the DL won't be as advertised. Either that or this DC is bullshite.

The whole Harold thing reeks of trying to make everyone forget about the loss of Brady.

I'm starting to get a serious Iraqi Information Minister vibe out of this regime.

Super secretive, for no other reason than to be super secretive. The next step is nothing to see here.

Yep, I'm ready for football, frick this nonsense.

All these walk ons and freshmen in the 2 deep is a real good sign. Coaches are far too often guilty of favoring kids they have recruited or kids with "upside" over kids that are actually better and are willing to put the work in. There is no arse kissing of prima donnas in this depth chart. Work harder and earn a spot sends a great message to every present and future player. There is an honesty to what I'm seeing. It doesn't matter your rivals star rating, what high school you played for, what other school recruited you or what assistant coach recruited you. Earn your spot and it is yours. This will give Mizzou the best chance to win now and in the future. Competition is a great thing, especially when everybody is given the hope of all being equal.

You think a DL with Charles Harris, Terry Beckner Jr, Ricky Hatley and Josh Augusta wont be any good?

I'm not seeing the correlation. I'm sure this who they thought had the best camp. Like I said, that might not be a good thing (it might though) but I don't think they are playing any shadow games with the depth chart. They are trying to win.

Not a whole lot more to add.

Concerned but with a wait and see attitude about so many damn walk ons in the 2 deep, particularly at DE. If they truly beat out the recruited guys then our new recruiters better either do a better job or find someone else that can.

Little surprised that Hines isn't on the list but Gibson and a couple of freshmen are. Also a little surprised that the "next Sheldon Richardson" isn't listed as a starter, though, yes, he'll get plenty of field time.

I think it's just me reading too much into things.

I'm just ready for football, this will all sort itself out soon enough.

I'm not convinced Odom won't change the lineup before the game. A depth chart is truly a useless vehicle except to pad egos of the players. These are the "official" starters for the game. What better motivator for athletes than to threaten ego.

If Harold comes out of the tunnel and plays the first defensive series, how do you think Nate Howard will play when he gets in? Or Chris Black?

Odom hasn't given a scholarship to one of his starters for the first game of the season. Seem odd? Odom gave a walk on a scholly out this week to a player not on the two deep.

I like that he is showing his team that working harder than others in practice will get you the honor of being named the starter. Even if its only for a series.
