Frickin' lib-tards! Putting human body parts in a freezer after killing is okay with PP, but it's murder when Jeffery Dahmer does it. If they were puppy or kitty parts, lib-tards would totally lose it.

Losing Loftin would be a major blow to all Mizzou Athletics, IMHO.

Planned Parenthood

I would be surprised if this has any legs.

Just curious...how would losing Loftin be a blow to Mizzou Athletics?

I was at Mizzou during the "Babs" years. That was a major blow to athletics. The lib-tards will want another lib-tard (like Babs) to run things their way (pro PP etc.).

Have you been to any Mizzou sporting event in the last two years? Loftin is there and working the crowd...a lot and every event. He cares and it shows.

He hired AD Rhoades. This hire will be proven good with time. Ask ANY Aggie about Loftin.

The political part was brought to you by the Mizzou lib-tards after Loftin.

I care how this effects MU Athletics.

Its probably safe to say that Babs was an anti-athletics Chancellor...but we haven't had any since. I don't recall anything that was politically tied to Babs.

What does that have to do with Mizzou athletics?

He is very personable. Other than a false sense of fan morale, I really don't see much difference?

I agree.

Most say he was slowly driving A&M downward until the SEC move was his saving grace?

He was pushed out for a reason...

Have a couple lawyer friends who went to SMU and have lived in Texas for a long time. Their take is that he does well, but has made some pretty egregious errors that are extremely damaging. He is obviously very popular among the general population for his fan and student involvement.

No, it was brought to us by a conservative introducing the term lib-tard

The planned parenthood thing seems like a sideshow to me. Maybe a way for Wolfe to give himself political cover with Jay Nixon for this move since Wolfe doesn't supposedly have a very good relationship with Nixon, but I don't think it would really be why Loftin is getting the axe.

The drama over the hiring then firing of the Medical School dean within the past 11 months seems to be the real fire starter here to me. I heard as far back as the UConn game some talk of a "vote of no confidence" being taken in the Chancellor over his perceived "meddling" with the medical school and other institutions like the business school.

Loftin's goal and directive was to try to secure Mizzou's AAU status which has been tenuous for years, and you do that at the med school level by pressing for more research, less clinical. He got rid of some vice chancellor position who was the liaison between the med school and the UM Hospital and he asked the new med school dean to also assume the responsibilities of that vacated position. The med school dean didn't want to, and then suddenly he was forced out. It ticked a lot of the academicians off.

Wolfe is also supposed to be really close with the head of the Mizzou hospital. I don't know what the hospital thought of Loftin's maneuvering but my guess is they didn't like it either.

Bottom line I think if this happens it was probably an academic version of how things went down with Steve Patterson getting forced out as the AD at Texas. Outsider comes in with lots of proposed changes to increase efficiencies, but he rubs the established local yokels the wrong way in doing so and pretty soon there are vultures circling all around him because he didn't kiss the right asses.

The rumor seems to have legs. All over PM and it makes a lot of sense.

Mizzou Mule, would you care to define what you mean by a lib-tard?

My initial reaction is that you're a fearful xenophobe with a fetish for guns and little sympathy for the mentally challenged. But I want to give you a chance to state your position and use of the term "lib-tard" more clearly.

We'll see what you think if a Chancellor is named who starts thinking that the AD doesn't deserve the Universities support. Personally, I don't ever want to go back to the days of Babs.

Couldn't be more wrong.

Interesting. Because I literally have not talked to one person who has said anything other than how much they loved him and how lucky we were to have him and how he'll be great for the AD because he fully supports the athletics. Literally, never had one single A&M fan say otherwise. Not saying they don't exist but I find this statement hard to believe.

Maybe you're talking about people in the academia world. Dunno.

Don't want to see the thread go bye bye because I do think it hurts the AD if Loftin goes. But keep some of the political name calling to yourselves. That's for both sides of the aisle.

Just a fair warning because I once ventured to the political board and saw how these things can go.

I'm overseas, can someone explain to me what's going on with PP? I heard congress was having issues passing the budget because of it but what does that have to do with the University?

Thanks

The student body at Mizzou sure as hell would like to see Loftin get the boot. He's a d-bag who's slowly ruining the great traditions and aspects of Mizzou that attract students to come here.
