I'm going plus 3.

I support the football program. I think the worst thing for us right now is a bunch of people pulling their support. The program is not the current players it's not even Pinkel. They are just who is here now.

JMO, so I'll be there.

Anyone heard of this? I know a couple guys who aren't going, but do you think there will be many who stay home?

The people staying home are no different than the football players. If the team was doing good, the football players wouldn't protest...If the team was undefeated, in the national title and SEC East race...you frickers would still go to KC even if they protested.

I'll be there. I want to see how many Mizzou fans actually show up. That and I want to take in a game this year. I spent my loot on baseball this summer.

Maybe with all the boycotting, I can upgrade my current seating.

Those boycotting this game are quite frankly lame as could be. Either you are a fan of Mizzou football or you are not. This whole mess in reality does not effect any of you except in your own "outrage". Fans jumping ship and not supporting the team in the long run hurts the program. The Mizzou football program is bigger then the players on the field this year, it is bigger then Pinkel and it is big then you self righteous warriors who in all reality are just as bad as the whole fricking mess.

I guess I'm not a Mizzou football fan this season. And you know what? I'm perfectly fine with that.

Are you talking about the fans or the football team?

Oh. Just the fans. The football team can quit for their reasons. We have to continue on to receive your approval. So noted.

Sorry you don't have any standards. But that's your choice.

Are we talking about the fans or the team again? It seems like it should apply to both, but you can't apply any sort of consistent thought to it, apparently.

That's not the message Pinkel sent.

quote:

it is bigger then Pinkel

Well, he's a pretty small man right now.

You typed out that self-righteous diatribe and then pretend someone else is self-righteous?

Now that's a shitload of assuming brah. Some of us have principles that don't have shite to do with football.

I won't support anyone who supports suicide. Period. When it comes to my fandom...life and death is literally the line.

I'm still Mizzou thru & thru but I'm still a little bit 'meh' for this game......maybe as it gets closer to game time my attitude will improve.......I'll ask Jack Daniels for a little assistance too.

I will not be going or watching on TV.

Except for those of us that live in Columbia, work on campus, or are students. We are now in constant danger of getting kicked out of school or losing our jobs for saying anything that hurts someone's feelings in any way - racist or not - on campus or off. Wasting our time with even more mandatory diversity / sensitivity training. Also, wasting our time to make sure we create "safe spaces" instead of doing work or academics.

These football players and shitty administration have gutted any intellectual discussions on the topic of race. They have created an environment where no white person on campus is safe and I absolutely fear for my self every time I go there. No, I am not going to get beat up, but I damn sure don't say a word to anyone outside of what I absolutely have to.

They didn't support suicide. They came to his aid because they wanted him to live.

I'm not supporting people that strong arm people to resign over allegations that may or may not be true. Maybe I'll came around next season, but this whole situation sickens me. It's not just a Mizzou thing, it's a cultural thing that is sweeping the nation. Hopefully Mizzou getting all this attention will show how ridiculous it has gotten so more people will stop rolling over and stand up for themselves.

He was making a CHOICE not to eat. VOLUNTARY. Its not like he didn't have food to eat, which would be a different story.

He was essentially holding a gun to his head, and the football team loaded the bullets.

Thats bullshite. You can oppose racism without holding your own suicide over the head of someone else.

Whether they meant to or not, they did support suicide.

We don't help others threatening suicide by giving into their demands, we send them to the hospital for mental evaluation and treatment.

The only boycott type of action that will move the needle on this is if high money donors reduce the dollars they give. I've heard rumors that this will happen, but not sure to what degree.

Agree, but if enough of the small guys like me (season tics & TSF) do not buy/contribute, that will get their attention too. Our effect will not be felt until next year.

Lots of rumors on PM that GP will resign on Sunday. Multiple people posting about it and Gabe said he has heard it too but doesn't know if its true or not. Supposedly several big time boosters met with Rhodes and said they want GP to step down over all this. If GP goes might as well shut it all down, Mizzou football will be done. What other coach would want to come and deal with this mess?

That would be a nightmare. I can't imagine who they would hire. Boosters better be willing to back up the Brinks truck if this is true.

Perhaps...or perhaps a fresh start with a new coach would do the trick to help us move past this.
