Anyone heard of this? I know a couple guys who aren't going, but do you think there will be many who stay home?

I'm staying home as well.

I cancelled my motel reservations and trip.
This mess is bigger than a football team, fan loyalty, school or game. The players made a choice by getting involved. There are consequences in all these protest actions.
These are only anarchist in training. Lead by other anarchist. Throw-in many spineless leaders and voila. I will not support this farce of a demonstration and these type of students/leaders.

Based on the numbers in this thread and with a 3% margin for error due to our sample size we can safely confirm that 100% of people will be boycotting the game
Remember there is a 3% margin of error

I'll be keeping my ticket and watching it at home. I won't support a team that supports suicide as a means of protest.
But I will be at the basketball game tomorrow!

I am just waiting for the next political cause in which our football team decides to partake.
Will it be a rally in front of planned parenthood? Could it be a march with NOW? Or perhaps they will all chain themselves to trees in the rainforest to prevent the devastation?

This I would actually support.

If someone were considering going to picket the game, what would be some good signs?

I will be there.
The team took a stance that they believed was right.
It doesn't matter if I agree with them or not, I commend them for not being afraid of making a stand.

Hitler also took a stand, solid and profound logic.

Yep lots of stands have been made over history. Not all turned out to be good. But I like people that can make a stand. No fear of possible consequences. The NCAA should be scared to death that players will take a stand to get their share of the profits. The football team brings in almost all of the money that the athletic department makes.

Personally I could care less about what the NCAA fears or does not, supporting chaos across our campus isn't a bright spot for me though.

That hasn't changed since the First Amendment was ratified.

Really? Because they should.

People can express their opinion through boycotting the game. It's entirely up to them. But hitler comparisons now?

I'm staying home and I live in KC. I may watch the start of the game purely out of curiosity, but that's about it. I'm disgusted with this whole clusterfrick, from the nutless administrators to Pinkel not thinking this through, to the idiot players wanting to boycott, and of course, the dimwit activist and protestors.
frick it all. They made their beds let 'em sleep in it.

hitler comparison might be extreme

I think that's the point of an argument reductio ad absurdum. It's pretty overplayed on the innerwebs, but it's got a point. You make a ridiculous comparison to show the logical end of following such an argument to its absurd conclusion.

Did I compare them to hitler?
His whole point was touting that he was proud of them for taking a stand, my point was that you can take a stand on absolutely anything. That in itself has no value to me.
