Jeezuz. The game wasn't televised and yet only 3500 fans at the game. I knew it was bad, but...damn!

Meh.

I never understood how basketball could get great crowds for anything besides a big matchup anyway.

The games are quick. The drive for most KC and STL people is longer or as long as the game.

There's no extra curricular activities like tailgating like with football.

I think it'd be pretty weird to drive into Como for a quick basketball game vs a non p5 opponent, and even an average matchup vs conference opponents.

shite is what it is at the moment.

That doesnt excuse the student body, the cities of Columbia and jeff city.

The reason the team draws that bad is because the program is in shite arse shape.

Of course the low attendance is because of the state of the program -- which at this very moment isn't quite as bad as many around here think it is.

Students aren't engaged in it for obvious reasons. Not many adults in StL and KC aren going to drive in for a game like that anyway, and compound it with the situation.

It's a strange lack of realism and a strong desire to shite on the situation to play threads like this out.

The program is in bad shape. Historically bad territory. How you can argue otherwise is laughable.

You love the contrarian lifestyle, i understand that.

There wasn't a case made that the program isn't in bad shape.

I said right now it's not AS bad as many around here think it is -- big difference.

There's more corners to turn, but the sharpest should be behind us. All the land mines left by the previous staff have either gone off or been disabled. Demolition and cleanup complete, now it's phase one of laying a clean foundation. Nobody shows up for that. They show up when the beams start going up. That's when it gets interesting. Would you like some more Mozeliakian analogies? I have many.

I don't see the value in this kind of self pity. It lacks realism.

3500 on a Tuesday night vs an awful non-P5 team, plus our situation. Okay.. it is what it is.

The undercurrent of this situation is moving in the right direction -- that doesn't mean we need to throw a party or act like things haven't gone seriously wrong, but to be totally numb to that is a shame.

That's because I don't think they could literally be any worse than they were the first two years.

You talking about all those thugs wearing hats at the dinner table?

The undercurrent of this situation is moving in the right direction

So the best job security is to come in and have historically bad seasons because anything after that can be described as moving in the right direction?

You were calling for Lock to be axed before the Arkansas game. Kid is a future top 5 pick and has pretty filthy numbers given plenty of external factors that have hindered his success.

You're not the visionary type. You don't feel and see what isn't physically there. Which is cool. The world needs your type. That's not as dickish as it sounds. Your type is needed.

The frustration is justified. The negativity is understood. I'm calling for a little bit of balance. Of course the scale isn't 50/50, there's more bad than good, but to put hyper-focus on the bad and past and not have any vision or feel for the undercurrent and the positives is a shame and I believe it makes it harder for the people working to fix it.

When I think of Haith's program I think of a house with crazy shite going on. I think of Delta House. People riding motorcycles up the stairs. Bottles being thrown against the wall. No, this isn't just about thugs wearing hats at the dinner table and it's not just about the actions of the players. This is about the overtone of the entire program and the values that ran from coaches to players.

It can be very difficult to change culture, be it in sports or business. The guy tore up the Miami program and he tore up our program. He left a cultural disaster.

I don't understand why people have such a hard time with this stuff -- but then again this is the same board who wouldn't listen when I said DGB was an idiot before he started getting in trouble.

I believe there's some positives. They're noted throughout this board in other threads.

And really, I don't care all that much. I'm not even a big basketball fan. I just really hate incomplete thinking and I can't stand seeing adults be so pitifully negative and ignorant to some good signs.

You're losing it again my friend. The condescending and pretentious sleepingmo is going down that same path I've seen before.

But that's cool. I find it entertaining. Unfortunately, it won't last through the weekend unless you avoid the poli board.

In the meantime, the rest of us will work to reach that higher level of thinking that you are on that allows you to see that Sandy Hook was a farce when the rest of us think it truly happened.

It's unfortunate that you got upset from that.

It's like a time traveling loop with you man. We all know how this movie will end.

I even defend you some because when you're on your meds you can be an insightful poster. Oh well, you won't last long going down this path again.

I mean, okay. Take your shots. I don't really give a fook.

What I've said in other threads as my explanations for why I think things aren't AS bad as many around here think has been collected and balanced without negativity toward others.

At a point it gets a little frustrating when people just want to have the pity party and shite on everything you say with no real effort to understand and engage in discussion.

Anyway. I find it a little funny that the person who's trying to add positivity and calling for a little balance of thought is the one being accused of being an unbalanced person. Odd. But it's the internet. It's how this works.

You mostly write in generalities and platitudes, the actual substance is lacking.

If you think am upset then you failed to use any critical thinking. Now your post lacks context and perspective. I was just trying to let you know I've seen this pattern before and gave you a heads up before you have to ask us to talk to the admins about reinstating you

If you weren't upset than that level of immaturity is kind of embarrassing. You got triggered so you tried to kick me in the nuts. That's what happened.

If you guys would rather have a misery-fest about basketball everyday, go for it.

Tried to inject some positivity and perspective. Obviously it didn't take.

On this topic that couldn't be further from the truth. You're welcome to look at the other threads on it and get back to me.

I'd bet you haven't read what I've said about it, you're just doing your part in the gang-bang.

You cant express an opinion without launching subtle, and not so subtle, ad homs. Then you point them out when they are returned to you.

If you could just not be a giant douche when trying to express yourself you actually have some good points.

Your problem is you just cant/wont step back and see what everyone else sees and fall into the trap of thinking people are attacking your opinions when they are just tired of your silly passive aggressive ad hominems.

Balls in your court man. I wont be going to bat for you in your next reinstatement thread. 4 times is enough for me to realize you are not going to change.
