Generally players add weight as they get older. If he stays at 210 lbs, then you would be right. If recovers from his knee injury and adds strength he will be ok. Most college post players are also n the 220-230 lb range.

For comparison, Rosburg was listed at 260.

Why would you want someone cloging the lane when you were going to have a 6'10 player being guarded by a guy whos 6 inches less and unable to drive the lane?

Smith probably compares to Bowers in that if he gets his weight/strength up he can be a very good college player.

Ivan Rabb started for Cal last year and averaged a double double. 6'11 220.

I actually agree about Smith. He can develop over time gaining some strength. He's athletic and has a pretty good shot.

He needs to get stronger though.

To me, Nikko just can't play at this level. He can't move or get off the ground quick enough.

Now we're comparing Smith to Rabb.

Is that different than comparing Smith to Rosburg?

You're probably right about that.

Rosburg was probably also light years ahead of Smith.

Nikko as a fresh reminded me of Rosy his junior year, obvi nothing to brag about but 3 years to improve. If he is your back up center, he is without a doubt the best back up C mizzou has had in, well idk a lonnnnggg time

I'd agree with that. Rosburg came in with no interior skills. In all the games I watched him play in high school, he played away from the basket ans slashed to the hoop. Never played with his back to the basket. Not that I think Nikko is all that, but he does seem to have played with his back to the basket before.

My only real comparison between Smith and Rabb was their weight. If Smith recovers from his knee injury and gets up to 220-230 lbs I think he can be a productive college post. There's a lot of P6 posts in that weight range.

With 3 open scholarships, I think they will land Knox and Harris this weekend. MPJ and Knox will put the full court press on Mohamed Bamba to take his final visit to Mizzou or Brandon McCoy. If we strike out on Bamba, McCoy, or a good grad transfer big, then MPJ convinces Jontay to reclassify. That would be a heck of a class. MPJ, Roberts, Knox, Harris, and BM/MB/JP/grad transfer.

Speaking of skinny centers, who was that one almost 7 footer who everyone thought had guard skills? God, it almost seems like it was back in the Fuller days when everyone thought he might come here.

Anyone remember who I'm talking about and if so, whatever happened to him?
