We won tonight, but that's back to back lackluster starts from the possible number 1 overall pick. Hope he isn't hurt. We'll need him if we want to do anything this year.

I don't know if it's injury, reading too many headlines or Hallmark trying to fix something that wasn't broken but he's struggled to get through 5 in each of his starts. And the competition wasn't all that strong in either one.

Hallmark teaches that spike curveball so I'm just hoping that it is Houck tinkering with a new pitch against lesser competition. Still, though, cause for concern.

Baseball beat a ranked Houston today. Of note because many wanted Rhodes to hire the Houston coach when replacing TJ. Good win for the team against the best OOC team they'll play before conference games start.

Yeah. In his first year, I'd be happy not finishing last in the SEC. Getting some real contributions from a lot of new guys.

808.....we lost one Westminster kid (Benes) but Bond is off to a really solid season so far.

Did Benes transfer? I remember him having some hype coming in

He has been finding too much of the zone with his secondary pitches out of the stretch. His slider as always been flat/inconsistent. I'd rather see him focus on locating his change up as opposed to changing his breaking ball.

He did. To Drury? Not sure of the back story here. He only hit .198 last year. Down from .225 his FR year.

Yep. Right around the time TJ got fired. Originally said he was done with baseball. Now I think he's playing at Drury. Had some hype but seemed to struggle to find his groove coming out of a knee surgery that had him miss all but the last week or two of his freshman year.

Not sure either. Said the decision was actually made before TJ was fired. Timing looked odd to me.

Have the games been televised? If so, I've missed it.

His secondary pitches have always been a bit of a struggle, even with no one on base. I say a bit of a struggle as a relative term to his fastball.

No. Just what I am picking up from Tex's rambling along with the guy from KTGR.

I was a little surprised the MU-Illinois game didn't at least get some watchESPN coverage. MU is winning 7-6 in the top of the 9th.

Wish some of these early games were on SECN+/streamed. Listened to those that were on KTGR.

Went 3-0 in the Tournament over the weekend with a good win over Houston who was ranked 25th in a couple polls.

I'm finding that over the last couple years that Mizzou baseball is a nice alternative to watching/listening to meaningless spring training games for the baseball fix.

I don't get the point of the SEC Network Alternate channel if the only programming on it all year is a few football games. 99% of the time there is nothing shown on it. I've never worked in TV before, but seems like it would be simple to put some baseball games on it.

I think Mizzou's problem with nothing streaming on SECN/Watch Espn early in the season is that they play a lot of neutral site/away games in warmer climates to start the season. The infrastructure isnt workable/cost prohibitive for Mizzou to produce the event for streaming on SECN

Carter got roughed up. Dulle and Sikema had solid outings to pick him up.
