Our secondary is extremely talented, but I think most LSU fans will tell you that they have underperformed so far. White has looked very good, the rest have been meh. We have mostly been beat by blown coverages. It's difficult to march down the field on our secondary, but they are susceptible to the big play.
Our safeties are not good in coverage. If you can get a TE or god forbid a WR matched up on our safeties you will win that matchup 9 times out of 10. Wisconsin ate us up with their TEs. I'm guessing y'all will go 4 and 5 wide more so than using a TE, which means we should be in dime.

Most of that sound depressingly like our secondary.

I really think it all boils down to the trenches. Can Mizzou's Oline keep Lock upright? Can Mizzou's Dline continue to be effective against the run? Do those two things, plus zero turnovers and limit dropped passes and Mizzou has a real good chance at winning this game. I think the LSU secondary can be exploited if they can protect Lock. If they can't protect Lock, it'll be a long game. With the rushing attack we have, I don't think it's enough to overcome a stalled passing attack. It's all up to the big guys to get this done.

OK, listening to the commentary this morning, no one is giving us a chance. There is little to no respect for Mizzou, and everyone thinks LSU is gonna come out on fire and kill us. I'm getting discouraged. Talk me off the ledge.

Semo, I hope they're looking past us. They won't know what hit'm until it's too late.
The reason they don't talk about us or give us a chance is because Mizzou is still looked at as an outsider. To them, they look at us as a B12 team coming in to play LSU.

Last year everyone assured Arkansas fans that it was a big revenge game for LSU and they were going to beat us like a government mule.
LSU has a ton of talent but they don't play as hard as some teams in the conference do. I will admit I think LSU pulls this one out, but I would not bat an eye if Missouri beat the Bayou Bengals.

Nope. They still see you as an outsider. Hell, we've been here for a quarter of a century or so and they still see us as an outsider.
Give it another fifty years and they might, grudgingly, admit you play in the SEC.

Meh. If you're listening to the SEC Network talking heads, they're all old guard honks or LSU graduates.
They'll play the chalk for the Big Six every time. frick 'em.

I'm assuming you meant haven't won anything. To that I would say that we've been to two SEC championship games. The first we should have won. It's not like we came into the conference and just laid down. But games like tonight are important to win not just because they are a conference game but to gain respect. Until we knock off an Alabama, LSU or Auburn along with continuing to build top notch facilities, we'll always be outsiders. It'll just take time. Got to have those signature wins though.
As the old saying goes. "To be the best, you got to beat the best". That would be Bama and LSU. They have been the best in conference.
