I hear ya. Thus why I think we get maybe 2, on a good day 3, of the kids out of Missouri.

The NSRB's forecast has not changed and it appears that at least one recruitologists' radar is now showing the S#©t Storm forming as the edges begin to enter the greater STL metropolitan area. Hunker down and ride it out with your liquor and MPj boost reserves. It's going to be a real nut buster.

That is a very negative opinion reedus.

Mizzou has a chance to compete for the East this season, many fans are being negative and so are the sports analysts. That stuff means nothing when the pads are strapped on. I'm seeing at least 4 or 5 of the Missouri kids. If we win 8 or more then I see more than that.

Hopefully it's the linemen. Mizzou won back to back east titles on the backs of really good and talented OL/DLs.
Get Perkins, Trout, Thompson, Carson and Parker and Mizzou's DL should be really good the next 3-4 seasons.

Fortunately, this is a small class year for Nebraska and they already have 10. They are still interested in a DB and a DL.

Brown was relatively a surprise. I'm told if Goodrich doesn't pull the trigger soon, he might not get the slot.

There's a DT out of Texas is top of their list, and they think he will commit soon. if he does, they are done at DL recruiting. Trout and Perkins are on their list, but not on top. Perkins took keen interest on twitter about Brown's commitment.

Brown just received his biggest offer to date:

Cameron Brown® @luh_cam_
Blessed to receive an offer from The University of Alabama #RollTideRoll This has all been a blessing! Still 100% committed to Nebraska #GBR

I guess Saban doesn't subscribe to the Jesus Quintana scouting service.

???

ETA: Nevermind, I get it. We'll never overcome the loss of a 6'0" 4.5 forty WR. We should probably shut the program down now.

C'mon JQ, you are being far too predictable. I have no doubt that had Brown committed to MU you would have quoted the one service calling him a 4* and emphasizing elusiveness via his YAC stat, calling him the key to starting up the imminent flood of STL recruits following his lead to commit to Mizzou.

P.S. Remember that the recruiting storm predicted by the NRSB was a disasterous hurricane. I did not mean to confuse anyone with the positive "flood" metaphor used above.

This is the predictable response we get from some when a kid chooses another school. Ohhhhh, he wasn't that good anyways and was the last on the list that we really wanted. He'll amount to nothing at Nubs.

And for clarity, not talking about your response uminsanedogop

Didn't say he wasn't any good. Said he was replaceable. If you are going to play this game, at least don't put words in my mouth.

You guys are the ones that love rankings so much. He's like 400 in the composite. That's a pretty average power 5 WR prospect.

Losing Brown is pretty irrelevant if you replace him with someone comparable.

But I know people love to yammer on more about guys we lose than guys we get.

Going back over the timeline in this thread I found an approptiate post to highlight an observation and comment to those to whom it may be applicable:

quote:

quote:
JaKorey Hawkins, CB recent offer Alfred Thomas, DL Mizzou in Top 8 (2) LaDedric Jackson LB, Mizzou in Top 5 (2)

With those 3 and Tank Jenkins(Foster's second cousin) plus Trout, Thompson, Babb, Parker, Adeoye and Perkins(the Missourians I think we have the best shots with), takes our class ranking to number 5.

Of course other teams will add players, but so would we. Realistic top 10 team.

Trying to get this thread back on track AGAIN

LINK

That's 4* DL Alfred Thomas and 3* LB La'Deric Jackson he is referencing.

Alabama could bear some fruit for us in this cycle.

I don't know if i need to defend my post or thank someone. as far as brown goes, I'm not discounting him as a player but he is rated 86 on the 247 composite. Not a death nail in our recruiting for 2018. If saban gave him an offer, its going to be a contingent offer like he did with Foster. Saban does not give 3* players a guarantee offer. Ask brendan scales. But I never thought brown was headed to mizzou.

Sadly, i don't think Babb is either. He is way better than brown and i think JQ's point is brown could be replaced with one of the 17 higher rated receivers we have offered. Babb, however, is the 3rd highest rated we have offered. And we have no chance with the top 2 receiver offers.

Just because we didn't get brown doesn't mean we can't have a top20 or even 10 class if we're lucky. We need to win 7 games or more. We might even be able to change brown's mind like we did with gabbert a few years back. Nubs are no longer a blueblood.

The Nubs are recruiting like a blueblood for 2018.

Keep clutching to your "belief" for as long as you can and it gives you peace.

To insert some reality, you are somewhat correct. MU WILL have a top 20 class but BO will really have to shockingly pull one out of his arse to get a top ten class..WITHIN THE SEC!!

I would put money on it that we end up where we always do. 12th to 14th in the SEC. In the 30's if it's a good class, 40's if it's mediocre and worse if the class is, well, worse.

I do think we have a better chance of flipping Brown than having a top 20 class. Any guesses if he gets a 4th star and moves up the rankings with more offers coming in? His offers started late but his recruiting has just taken off.
