awesome insight Reedus! makes me wonder if 100k will tempt a kid who just graduated high school. Hope he realizes the value of the college degree.

Probably won't tempt him. Most guys like him have a belief in their ability. He will believe that playing 3 years of baseball will increase his draft stock to the point of being a top 5 round pick, which will equate to closer to a million a year. If he didn't think he was capable of being that kind of draft pick, he'd skip college. Thus the reason I think he'll be at Mizzou.

Football is just an afterthought in the entire equation but that's okay.

Baldwin is supposedly only really looked at as a linebacker and that's what the kid said in an interview the Tigers wanted him to play. His high school HC said he could play all three LB positions but Baldwin said they will decide next spring which OLB position he plays at.

Your 2 stars. Seriously. LINK

I don't know who they are seriously after. Obviously, the top level guys will go to UGA, UF, Bama, Auburn, wherever. I'm sure they'll land 1 or 2 guys that are a level or so below those guys, but no idea who that might be.

Does anyone have a PowerMizzou membership? I was interested in the lead recruiting story about JUCO DT Alexis Johnson. I was wondering if he says he is really considering Mizzou, or is the article headline a load of crap?

Not a bad get, big interior lineman are always good. He has a lot of good teammates too that I would love to pick up.

We have offers out to 3 of his teammates from what I've read.

I don't know him at all but I do know that McNair High School football is terrible. That might make him a great pull since he would probably be getting good coaching for the first time in his life.

Didn't watch the whole thing, but saw him line up at DE, saw him at TE, saw him at WR. Never saw him at OT.

I'd be lying if I didn't say I was scratching my head a bit with this class so far. And I think we're up to 12 already in another smaller size class.

He's listed as an athlete but with his size is a sure bet to be OT and will probably play that spot this year. He's a guy who probably won't see a bit of playing time until year 3 or 4 but will likely be on campus for 5 years.

How many spots so we expect in this class? 22-25 would be my guess?

He just spent 3 days in front of Mizzous coaches. To take him at this time he had to be impressive.

The coaches seem to be targeting great athletes even more this year. Trusting their ability to teach kids how to play the position. Especially true with these last to OL commits.

At first I was thinking the same thing but it seems like where these guys are coming from is what makes this class so different. I think they upped the travel budget for the recruiters so they can fan out and establish a much bigger footprint and relationships to go with it.

The guy they just got is someone AJ Ricker new about from his days at Illinois. If he's not ranked, I have to believe they truly believe he's better than about all the 3* guys in Missouri they havent offered. I'm sure a ton of that group would come to Mizzou if offered but its not a great class.

While it may seem like this is a poor class they've recruited so far, it seems at the very least like they said"screw it, if we're going to have a weak class to choose from anyway, let's establish new relationships with HS coaches".

At least that's my hope.
