Gotta say, this might be my favorite commit so far, 2nd to maybe Strong.

And he was right.

McCann has committed to Mizzou.

mubobby also followed up after the commit saying Abbington is a class short, taking it this summer. He'll make it, but he'll be late, which could effect PT this year.

Also said this:
Q: Why are people so low on Ish? I thought he improved

He goes down way too easily. Runs soft.

Coaches are wanting a bigger compliment to Hansborough. Either Steward (health still in the air) or Abbington (who still hasn't qualified).

With Walters out it may be Witter by default, but watch for Marquise as well (if he doesn't sign a pro contract)

Don't forget the Williams kid from the KC area as a possibility at rb. I was a lil excited with the recruitment of Ish, but the SEC is for bigger backs. I still believe in him.

Sorry if I'm not super excited about the signing of a couple 2 star kids. Our recruiting needs to get better athletes, not just kids from down the street.

But the cornerbacks we got are bigger and more athletic than many of those recruiting before them. Or do you just look at stars?

That is disappointing.I was looking forward to Abbington get some meaningful carries this year.He still could, but not optomistic as of now.

I'd say he's almost going to have to get carries at this point. It's weird how you can go from having too many to not enough so quickly.

Don't think you can count on Steward, Walters is out and Doherty looks very likely to head to the MLB.

No kidding.I'm starting to doubt if Steward will ever play again.Williams and Hilton need to be prepared to get some carries as well.Strong won't be eligible until 2016, right? When did Walters tear his ACL?He was another guy I wanted to see on the field.

I've been saying I don't think Steward will ever play again. Walters tore it at the beginning of spring and I seriously doubt he plays next season. Not sure if Hilton is a RB. Doherty not drafted yet, but only 1/2 way through the first round and only the first 2 rounds are tonight. Strong is in JUCO next season and will come in ready to play, assuming no grade issues, for the 2016 season. Abbington apparently is a big question mark at this point.

We are literally down to Hansbrough, Witter, Hunt and Williams. Williams will probably see some time by default at this point.

Pretty sure Hilton is going to play safety.

At this point we need to hope that one of Abbington or Steward can contribute.

Strong can come in next year and probably be the bell cow if he can stay healthy.

Hilton plays Db so I hope he doesn't get that many carries

I saw him listed as an athlete, meaning he had no defined position as of yet.Thought he played some RB in high school.

I'm sure he did at times, but he's not a RB. Just one of those guys that could do a little bit of everything in high school. Kind of like Floyd or whoever from Louisiana played QB but he's a WR who played QB by default because he was the best athlete on his team.

I don't think Mizzou zone blocks on running plays, so if Abbington is in shape, he should be able to contribute quickly in the running game. He's a straight forward runner, not a cutback so the offense should be easier to grasp. The problem would be passing routes out of the backfield and maybe blocking. IMO

Glad we're getting commitments, but these aren't real high rated kids and have midmajor offers. Not saying anything is wrong with taking them, just an observation.

I think its early in the process. A lot of these guys have been assigned a rating and will be more closely evaluated when the season starts. I'll bet in the batch we have, they are all re-rated as 3 stars with 2 or 3 becoming 4s.

I was thinking the same thing. What happened to Mizzou being picky with commitments due to low scholarship numbers for next year?

I see panic with some of these offers and verbal commitments. They may ooze potential, but half of our class is commited and there is no viable prospect who can help us without 1-2 years of development.
