Yikes, can we please stop having players get hurt?Looks like Wainwright is going to pitch out of the bullpen soon.

not sure how OK he is yet, they said "Scans taken of Piscotty's head, face and neck showed no fractures or serious damage. He was diagnosed with a head contusion and was to remain in the hospital overnight for observation."
I figured best case his nose was shattered. Was thinking did that really happen, then they showed it on replay, yup, he face planted into Bourjo's chugging knees. Dam. Just an awful collision, glad he's not seriously hurt of course.

So glad the Cards won Monday night. This rain out worked out perfectly for the Rats. Cards might have to win 2 out of 3 in ATL.

Not so fast! We still have tonight.

It's likely going to be a slugfest. Is this offense capable of scoring 7-8 runs? I hope they win, but I'm just not sure they have the pitching matchup to do it. Right now it looks like Matheny is doing a great job of saving the quality BP arms for the second game, but so far the Rats haven't even had to touch their BP.

Not sure about the choice to pitch Waino when this game is out of reach. I would have preferred he got a shot in the 2nd game if needed. I guess this is live action for him, so it's a way to test him without having the game on the line.

Idk, in hindsight ya but you had no idea if he was gonna get rocked or not.

yea I just heard he warmed up did he get into the game?
either way, taking 2 or 3 in ATL is not like conquering Sparta..

Jason mother fricking heyward. Pay the man already
Posted on 9/30/15 at 6:56 pm to Mizzourah2006
Yeah we can't use him in the playoffs or nothing

Agreed, he brings some special tools.
Not an eye popper stat wise, but he's a fricking ball player.

I was thinking the same thing.
I have tickets for game 1 and I have never been to a Cards-Cubs game. What better way to break in that rivalry with a playoff game?

Oh he is. And he's only 26. It feels like he's 30 but he is not.
I'm not a huge fan of new stats. But his WAR says he's a 20+ million guy. The same people who bring up WAR value unfairly look at him and question that because of power stats. But with him when you watch him every day you actually see his value in everything he does. Hell I like him 4th or 5th in the lineup. Because if you're doing things right you're lineup shouldn't turn over in order every time. He's capable of going gap or yard, as well as turning a two out hit into a key run late in a game. His defense goes without saying and just letting him become a free agent regardless if he signs here or not is just a bad decision.
He may very well not hit 20 or 25 homeruns 3 or 4 years in a row. Or as he ages he could put it all together and outplay his value like a jose bautista.
I won't even bring up the fact he couldn't be any worse against lefties last year to being at a point now where you would be retarded to pinch hit for him against a left hander.

Hurdle with the clutch move to put in the lefty tonight with the bases loaded.
Heyward drives him out of the park.
Fun season guys.

Who would you rather play, the Cubs or the Pirates?
I feel like we match up better against the Pirates, and they've had some injuries that have slowed them down.
The Cubs, while the NLDS would be fun to watch, have a really explosive offense that may give us fits.
I'm torn between beating the Cubs in the NLDS and laughing at them for losing the play in game.

I want the Cubs but I don't want to be the footnote in their magical season to a world series win. It's going to happen. Back to the Future said so.
Never mind, their is no Florida team in the Playoffs so what does BTTF know?
