The only issue I see is the gameplan is to essentially tell Sam and Ealy to play slower. Sam's whole schtick is that he is a smaller faster rusher, he gets around the ot and creates mayhem in the backfield. If you coach him for this game to not sprint around the ot, then you are telling Sam not to do what Sam does.
I don't think Pinkel needs to overthink this. Do what you do, do what got you to this position. You play your game, let them play their game.
One thing I noticed in the Bama AnM game is that Bama just continued doing what Bama does, despite a 24 point deficit in the first half.
Mizzou just needs to do what Mizzou does. Get after Johnny's arse.
Also, Evans is a badass but he only caught two passes vs LSU. They've got several capable receivers. I think the last thing you want to do is slow down Sam and Ealy to give Johnny more time. Yeah, I know he's dangerous if you rush him out of the pocket, but he's dangerous if you don't rush him out of the pocket too. He's dangerous either way. Get in there, get his arse. If he beats you, he beats you.

I feel ya big time on this. I'm torn between it.. I didn't add the 'contain' part until today, after it had been brought up by numerous posters. But I still felt a little hesitant doing so, for the reasons you mentioned. I think you may be right, can't put a leash on Sam or the other speed rushers. I think maybe they will just be conscious of Johnny's ability, while still bringing the heat. (whatever that means).

If I was betting, I'd bet they do stick to what they usually do.

Our largest lead vs. Bama was only 14, but I agree with your larger point.

You are right.... I totally misremembered that game. I must have been drunk. I could have sworn I was about to turn it off at one point.

My brother showed me some absolutely hideous uniforms that a&m was wearing. Some bizarre pattern things that look like they are trying to make everyone dizzy. Tell me he was messing with me.

Yeah, that is not confirmed. At least I don't think. A fan made those jerseys out of a teaser pattern that Adidas leaked.
Really hoping that the jersey won't be made from that pattern, hopefully it's just some trim or something.

For A&M's sake, I hope you're right and they never actually see the light of day. They would instantly rival Maryland's.
