So as y'all have no doubt have heard, Chancellor Dan Jones has not been reinstated by the IHL due to his tension with Governor Phil Bryant and the fact that he actually knows best on what to do with our Medical Center. The fact of the matter is, both of our schools have laughably high admission rates, to where any idiot with a pulse could apply and be accepted to either of our schools, despite the fact that they'll drop out almost immediately.

I've had some issues with Dan Jones when it comes to our media athletic image, but that clearly hasn't affected us negatively athletically with us going to a BCS bowl, the NCAA tournament, and Omaha in the past year. It's really comparing grains of sand to boulders here. Sadly, some of the redneck idiots in our fanbase are praising a board largely not affiliated with our university (Phil Bryant certainly isn't) taking our Chancellor away from us. This is pretty unacceptable to me and hopefully soon the Ole Miss alumni at large.

But State and Southern alumni should also be outraged. This organization has really tried to hold back all 3 colleges back as much as possible so anyone, deserving or not, can go and fail to get an 4 year education. And if our Chancellor can be taken from us for standing up to the state, then yours can too. I'm hoping we don't get a lapdog from the IHL for our next Chancellor (although I'm confident they'll try their hardest to appoint one), we can't stand for this. So, our next Chancellor, State's Chancellor, and Southern's all need to stand up against this fricked up organization fighting true progress in our state. You want to talk about Our State, this is it. We need to take it back from the idiots running this state and trust in the true academics who actually know better than the morons in Jackson. Everyone else on board?

I made it into State from Blinn College with a 2.2 gpa. TAMU wouldn't take me, and this was before Blinn signed automatic acceptance agreements with the Ag and Life Sciences departments. State took me in with that shite gpa and I got a education. Now I have a decent job, I am a supportive alumni, and I am a good standing member of my community. None of this would have been possible had I not been accepted into Mississippi State with my 2.2 gpa.

So no, I don't stand with you in terms of admission policies, but it sounds like Dan Jones got a raw deal. I have to admire that I'm not privy to much of the situation however.

shite has sucked at the ihl for forever time and your novel makes shite difference.

I don't give a frick about your chancellor and you telling me that now is the time to be outraged is laughable.

Have they ever overstepped their bounds this much though?

And why are you telling me to frick off when we seem to be in agreement over this?

Because only now is it an issue for you.

Your trying to rally the troops against the IHL only comes when they force some old dude out of office.

Your long winded OP was a self-serving hypocrital dance and you should be embarrassed.

I think I've been saying on here for a while I've been embarrassed by them and they should be stopped. This is the action that just pole-vaulted over the line though, and they should be held accountable for it, and should have long been disbanded by this point.

I don't know or care what you've posted in regards to the IHL.

To pretend like

we should unite and kill the police motherfricker

for you all, NOW, is some misguided bullshite.

If you think Phil Bryant had anything to do with it you are beyond paranoid. Obviously they didn't have the best relationship but I can promise you an elected official of that level had nothing to do with removing your chancellor.

If you want to bitch at someone, look to your own alumni. They are the ones who pushed this. Albeit a small group of them.

Lol at this thread

I'm not sure who OML hates more: the IHL, or people who disliked interstellar

First of all, great movie.

Even though I have problems with the plot holes regarding relativity.

What are you asking us to do exactly? As in what actions to take.

Secondly how will these actions result in MSU raising their admission standards?

I loved the movie

But if you question why they used a 5 stage rocket to leave earth, and then scooted right off the water planet that had 1.3 earth gravity in a hovercraft, OML will kill you in your sleep.

Also, an effectively infinite amount of time should have passed as he approached the center of the black hole.

And secondly or thirdly or whatever number we're on now, you can't have a wormhole if we don't have the knowledge to create one, you can only travel as far back in time as the destination's advancement allows. Theoretically.

I thought it was an ok movie. I enjoyed the actual space exploration aspects.

I would have liked the movie a lot more if it was just them hopping from cool planet to cool planet and checking them out/encountering dangers.
