How is it possible to make a 2.2 in junior college if you at least give somewhat of a shite? It's merely high school with ashtrays.
Well I dicked off for about a year, and Blinn College was hard I shite you not. I got to MSU and it was a freakin joke how easy it was.

I'd like to get Diamondawg's insight/take on all this.

Well it's definitely a little more challenging than Co-Lin that for sure.
What years were you there?

'03-'05, before Cam's time. We had a house on Market St we lived in, the owner let us fix it up for free rent. It was a great couple years. Then I had to grow up.

What was that all you can eat country buffet off 290? I would eat there all the time going in between Houston and Austin.
Brenham has a nice little downtown area.

The procurement issues at UMMC are known and are legit for termination. I don't think these things are new information, and somebody needs to dig deeper into why it took so long for this to come out. If they were going to sweep them under the rug but pulled them out just as a reason to get rid of him, then more heads need to roll. Also, if they were going to let them be and got scared once the Epps scandal hit, then again, more heads need to roll.

Multiple policy violations regarding spending and contract procurement at University of Mississippi Medical Center were the undoing of Ole Miss chancellor Dan Jones.
quote:
Instead, widespread and repeated violations of contract procurement procedures and shoddy financial reporting to the Board that went unchecked is why Jones will no longer serve as chancellor once his contract ends in September.
quote:
The audit Perry referenced lists several violations: UMMC not getting Board approval for contracts in excess of $250,000, not getting approval for leases in excess of $100,000 and the medical center not being able to produce documents related to contracts the Board and auditors questioned. The audit singled out a gamma knife – a piece of sophisticated medical equipment used to operate on tumors – UMMC bought but had never installed.

I don't remember an all you can eat country buffet. There was Country Inn where you could get a chicken fried steak the size of your chest. Damn I'm missing that place now. Brenham is a great town, I traveled through there last summer and was glad to see it all still there.

The Ayers' case claimed that the historically "white" schools received preferential treatment for years over the historically "black" schools. Remember, that case was originally filed in 1975 and Mr Ayers didn't even live to see it resolved some 35 years later. The courts agreed and much of the issues with admission standards has more to do with the Ayers' case rather than IHL - contrary to what OP suggests.
I like Dr Jones as a person. He has some fairly liberal social views which probably sits pretty well with his faculty but no so much with the alumni base.
Was it within IHL's purview to choose not to renew Dr Jones' contract? Absolutely!
Was it the right thing to do? I only know what I have read. But, if the contracts stuff is true and he was given opportunities to correct them, then it probably was.
I like the current VC at UMMC and like the future one even more. She is quite capable.
Was Phil Bryant involved? I only know what he has said but he has only appointed 4 of the 12 members so how much influence does he even have over the board?
The vote was 9-2. Pretty telling.
Dr Jones knows the rules and he knew them when he was the VC for Health Affairs at the medical center. He can be pretty hard headed.

I seriously don't remember giving OMLS access. To be honest, a lot of these rebs I have no idea. I think I need to cut back on my Xanax intake.

This thread is probably very similar to pivey trying to convince a girl to go on a date.

I think no replies would've been closer to that.
