My thought is that this (assuming like 4.6 in year 4) is high enough that we don't have to worry about anyone hiring him away unless he wins a championship of some sort, at which point we have to go all in anyway.

The market dictates whether or not someone is overpaid and I don't think he is in that regard.

College Football coaches in general are overpaid but that is a completely different discussion.

I don't think he's overpaid. He's earned that IMO. I just wish some of that would go towards some higher assistant coach pay.
