When you get in trouble...just flick the ball 60 yards down the field. Your WR's will bail you out.

He's a USM mole and cannot be trusted..

Even though he'd never take orders from Mullen, he'd be greenbroke real fast under Hudspeth.

Are we talking about Brett Favre or Johnny Manziel here? I'm confused.

Seems Gonzo is getting a "promotion" whatever that means title wise(we know it's not changing anything in reality).

We can forget Mullen giving up playcalling now that he's finally got his first real weapon at the QB position next year -- which means we won't likely get anyone exciting as "OC"...

Also seem to be trying to transfer Sallach back off the field -- opening the door to hire a te/ST coach(hopefully)...

That leaves one more coaching spot open that I have no idea how Mullen fills role-wise(if he hires a ST coach does he take over as OC/QB coach?). Would love to fill it with best available recruiter. But we're going to have to add more than the $500k(rumored) to the pot to really go get someone that helps us in the short term...

Paul said this morning the most likely scenario is to promote Gonzo to Co-OC and hire Brain Johnson as the other Co-OC.

Brain Johnson is 26. Got the OC position at Utah when he was 24. He was the QB when Utah beat Alabama in the bowl game several years ago. He is from Texas and recruits there and Louisiana currently.

I don't know how I feel about that and it's not set in stone but that's what he said the most likely thing is to happen.

ETA: Looks like he's got that Visor swag.

yeah, Mullen wasnt going to give up the offense with the DakAttack next 2 years.

Basically a QB coach hire. Hope it's Johnson and he is a machine recruiter

Which may not be a bad thing.. His play calling works when it's all Daks show, but if we had a real OC it would let him focus on doing a lot of other things he needs to be doing..

Same way with the special teams BS..

Muffin's offensive play calling really isn't that bad. Some of his personnel decisions are bad. The real problem I have with him is the special teams. We are just awful at special teams.

Fully agreed. A novice fan like me shouldn't be able to prophecy blocked punts / FGs this accurate..

If we don't hire a special teams coach, I am burning all my state clothes and not going to a game. I won't be able to handle the disappointment this year. The let-down will be too much for me.

Seriously, if we're set up to have the season a lot of us think and we end up losing a game or two because we can't kick a fricking 20 yard field goal I'm going to lose my shite.

the field goals are the least of my worries. Something bad happens everytime our special teams steps on the field. Either it's a terrible block, or we only have 10 people on the field. It's always something.

Yeah, I don't know if we had a single game without a huge special teams blunder.

What happened to our 2012 punt team? That rugby style shite was killer.
