So 30 games into the season, Mangum is batting over .410... as a freshman.

Chase Parham mentioned something about his recruitment between OM and State on twitter last weekend. I wasn't really sure what he was talking about. Is there a story there?

Ole Miss doesn't have a very good relationship with the Dulin Dodgers anymore. Something happened last year with all that. A lot of the top talent in Mississippi plays for them out of Memphis? I believe.

Mangum originally committed to Alabama because I think either his dad or brother played there. Jake has two brothers and his dad that played in the NFL IIRC.

Mangum seems like one of those guys that you always see play for a program like LSU. Constant clutch hitting and gets the whole team pumped up. If he stays healthy I bet he goes down as an all time favorite for MSU fans.

This freshman class is pretty unreal. Fun time for State Dawg baseball.

That snag Alexander made at 3B last night was pretty nasty too. That kid just has an instinct for fielding that you can't really teach.

He needs to get the bat off his shoulder and not be such a one way player. I love what the kid can do in the field, but come on son, at least get up to ~.250.

He looked good to start the season but it's been all downhill for Alexander at the plate.

It's ok though, he has time to learn. We don't have to have him batting .300 this year. I can't imagine him not progressing, the athletic ability is obviously there.

I'm not sure what our hitting coach is doing differently but almost everyone looks better at the plate this year.

Mangum fricking owns. Hard to believe a guy like that was swinging against high schoolers last year.

That would probably explain Dalton Dulin leaving the program a couple of years ago. I don't follow baseball recruiting too much, so I wasn't sure what Chase was implying.

So now that the architects have done their thing, the new park is going to cost 55 million. Woof.

Diamonddawg is some old codger who thinks he a big baller and knows it all. He loves to look down on the average joe fans like us.

Also, how can any MSU fan who has EVER watched a baseball game in the LFL have negative things to say about it.

Big series this weekend. Getting a w from Hudson would be huge, take one from them on the road and anything else is icing.
