We're probably going to lose a few in the draft the next couple of years...
That said, Vallot could be interesting. He's projected highly in some places and is not in others. Be interesting to see where he plays if he makes it. Some of the posters that follow HS baseball closely think he may end up somewhere other than behind the dish -- which is hard to "see" tangibly in numbers -- since he was 89 out of the catcher's box last year(2nd hardest recorded by PG all year) and is already a mid 1.8 pop time. Plus, I believe Collins is the more diverse of the two in the ability to play almost anywhere.
I don't know about anybody else -- but by next year, I'm almost going to be ready to fully ready to transition to the young guys with pop. I know Cohen will never actually do it -- but still. If the studies done thusfar are to be believed, the new balls should give back almost 80% of what the BBCOR bats stole...

So I am thinking either Bracewell or Holder to start off the rain delayed end of the game.
I would prefer Holder...but I feel like Cohen will go Bracewell.
It would be nice to have Mitchell go long and save Lindgren for Sunday.
ETA: Oops...not Lindgren for Sunday...Lindgren for Saturday. My bad.

Agreed...
I'm expecting Bracewell personally.

Last night people were saying Preston should be able to go. That would be big getting him back

Yeah, Butch has been saying since the initial "tweak" that he's hoping/expecting him to be ready for aTm...
I wish we had a couple more mediocre midweeks to get Laster/Tatum work. That's the only downside to how Cohen frontloads the schedule IMO because we start to see some of the young/inexperienced guys get going on the hill late -- only to find themselves lacking "low stress" opportunities to continue building confidence.

Another Adidas bat home run. We're now leading Renfroe by 2.

@bobcarskadon: I'm told Preston Brown will start for MSU in today's rubber match against Texas A&M. Good news for MSU getting him back on the mound.

Let's hope he is dealing. Big game against a good pitcher.

Cohen puts way too much emphasis on match-ups IMO.

Brown doesn't have the velocity he did before he got hurt.. FB is 84-86
Posted on 4/26/14 at 2:50 pm to 17theBears
he is just throwing BP right now...
Hope I am wrong, but it feels like we are about to get our asses kicked

shite.. Brown just never had it today
Posted on 4/26/14 at 2:57 pm to dawgM2
Bad thing is -- brown was really unlucky here. He was inches away from only giving up one stranded hit. That said, the concerning part was how solid the contact was...
Posted on 4/26/14 at 2:59 pm to engie
yeah... his last two FBs were both 82. It would seem he his not back to 100%

That looked like a strike.. Should be out of the inning
