Creighton isn't really a great win.

Yeah, upon looking into it further you are right.

I just assumed since they made the tourney for three straight years they were solid again this year. Boy was I wrong.

Why the hell can't we inbound the basketball? Regularly wasting timeouts and 5 second violations are fricking embarrassing.

I hope we find a way to win on Thursday but I've had this game penciled in as a loss ever since I looked at our schedule back in November... Hate having to play in The Hump.

I would put it at 80% and i think we suck

But seriously, with sword and daniels both healthy i could see us doing really well

I don't know...it doesn't seem like Kennedy is his usual choking self this season.

I agree but it's what happens when you're this bad. Bringing Ray back for a year three, and potentially even year two, was a mistake. This experiment has failed and we need a basketball coach.

I will make a pass at this. I think we would be right where we thought we would be at this point if Chicken and IJ had been healthy to start the season. I could see us at 18-7 and 6-6 in conference with a better start. We wouldn't be an NCAA team because of our sucky schedule, but we would be solid for an NIT slot.

Ray finally has a pretty decent recruiting class, and we will have some pretty reliable seniors next year. We won't be world beaters, but we will be solid. If we land Newman by some chance, we could be very good, regardless of who is coaching the team.

The current players are pretty inconsistent. If everyone got on the same page and played close to their A game for 40 minutes, they would actually be damn good.

The inability to inbound the ball and reach the offensive end of the court and then maintain possession long enough to get off a shot is a indictment of the coach. Waaaaay to many timeouts and turnovers off of made baskets for me to consider Coach Ray a success or hope he returns.

At least he can call a timeout. Stans seemed utterly incapable of such a feat.

Don't start that. We have moved on. Should only evaluate Ray by the job he is doing and not against Stans.

We turn the ball over way too much. That is true. Is the LOFT disease or the coach's fault?

Objectively I don't think he's terrible but I also feel confident enough, in the probability he will never be great, to move on. We have set a standard that we aren't settling for just good, we have the obligation to uphold that standard and make a decision based on it.

We can argue about what is or isn't the coaches fault and probably end at a standstill. I don't think anyone here is going to say he is the absolute best thing for Mississippi State Basketball going forward. That in itself is a better reason than any other for us to change directions.

If we can improve the state of our program by making a coaching change then it is the right thing to do. Is anyone brave enough to argue that Ray is the absolute best we can do?

Given the facilities, million dollar salary, and major conference affiliation there is no excuse to field a team this bad (180ish RPI) after three years.
