Someone on 247 just posted this.

quote:

Lineup tomorrow
Heck( SS)
Robson (cf)
Collins (c)
Rea (1B)
Hump ( 3b)
Gridley (2b)
Brown (LF)
Rooker( DH)
Vickerson ( rf)

If it's accurate I'm going to be elated. I'm guessing that's our actual starting lineup so wouldn't be surprised to see it broken out to take the series.

Hand still not back to 100% yet. He's getting close, wouldn't be surprised to see him catch next weekend.

I figure he would at least be DH but I there is no need to rush it I guess.

Well, probably the most pressing issue, we don't have a closer.

Reynolds is such a stud. Was batting .171 coming into today. Cohen put him in the 2 hole as DH, he's 0-3 with 2 strike outs.

I didn't tune in til like the 8th when Ross was throwing base hit after base hit. What happened to our pitching? Didn't Tatum start? How far in did he get before we brought in Ross?

And then we found out not a soul in our bullpen could shut shite down.

Gonna be a rough year. Looks like we were gifted a few wins earlier on.

Ross shouldn't have even played today. They have already seen him once this series. Ross is effective one game of the series and I think that's all. He's not a Lindgren and can be figured out after a couple of AB's. Should've brought Fitts in considering the numbers he has had so far and never saw the mound this series until today. Fitts wasn't terrible today and was put in a bad situation.

Fitts can't throw strikes. You can't close if you can't throw strikes. If I were the opposing coach I would literally tell my guys to never swing at his breaking ball and watch him walk guys across.

I really think we are going to have to use Vance as a closer. Start Laster on Sundays and try to bring him in the 8th on Fridays and Sundays. Sucks you can't use him as a starter but we just don't have the nerves to shut down a game otherwise.

Ross shouldn't have been pulled, period. Say what you will but if Ross Mitchell blows a 4 run lead I'll let you kick me in the balls once for each run.

Cohen wanting Vance out of the pen makes a whole lot more sense now. He doesn't have a closer but Vance was so good he wanted to give him the shot at starting. If we see Collins back soon, Tatum to the pen, and Reynolds just doesn't see the plate again, we will be fine. Better to find this out now than later.

My biggest issue is how we churned through pitchers in the 9th. It legitimately looked like they were just pitching everything until someone looked like a closer. It scares me that we had to get to that point. It also scares me that we pulled Gentry after one pitch, to eventually go to Hudson. It looked like they were actually expecting him to close. He just isn't there yet, it's obvious he hasn't settled into his mechanic change yet. That 2 RBI double he served up was belt high at 94, he's lucky the guy didn't send it to the Templeton.

On another sad arse note. We really need Engie in here to convince everyone it's going to be ok. I need some sunshine.
