Who is Jarrett Stidham?
5 star Baylor transfer QB. 6'3, 220 lb.
His stats?
As a true freshman, he started 3 games and he completed 69% of his passes for 1,300 yards, 12 passing touchdowns, 2 rushing touchdowns, and 2 interceptions.
Eligibility?
He has three years of eligibility left and can play immediately. He enrolls in January so he will be able to participate in Spring practice.
Is he a realistic possibility?
Stidham has long been considered a Texas A&M lean, because he is from Texas. Texas A&M slow played him so they wouldn't piss off their QB commit and they fell out of the race. He visited Auburn last week and they appear to lead as of now. HOWEVER, the breaking news tonight is that Stidham will be visiting next weekend along with fellow 5 star OL and Alabama commit Alex Leatherwood. It appears that Stidham is down to Auburn and Florida. He is expected to decide later this month.
This guy is the type of player that completely changes the face of our offense. It would be an incredible pull if Mac could find a way to get this guy to UF.

Atl....didnt you know that UF cant recruit? I read it on this board numerous times and on Alligator Alley and if its on the internet it must be true..amirite?

Getting people to visit and closing the deal are entirely two different things. Surely you understand that reel. That being said man do I hope both will be Gators.

It's an official, so more than likely it begins on Friday at 5 and will end on Sunday at noon.
Getting him on campus is step one. Most didn't think he'd even visit. If the visit comes through and Mac lands this guy, it'd be the biggest "recruit" Mac has gotten to date.

Unless things have change a lot from when I was in school there is no need to involve FSU.
Besides FSU girls might give him Foot & Mouth disease.

I assume he won't be arriving in a BMW so I thought the UF girls would automatically turn him down.

Update:
Florida coaches are traveling to Texas following the SEC Championship Game to conduct an in home visit with Stidham and his family, then Stidham will be giving his last visit before the dead period to Florida.

According to Auburns 247, their OC Rhett Lashlee went on an in home visit with him for 12 hours and Auburn is firmly in the drivers seat.
It still isn't over though. He still has his in home with Florida's coaches scheduled and his visit the following weekend is still on as of now.
If it was truly over you'd think he would've committed and told Florida's coaches thanks for the interest but no thanks before they even visited him in home. We'll see how it plays out though

We have done ok with transfers and JUCOs to fill gaps and if the coaches feel strongly that Stidham will help the team....so be it. If we dont get him...then it wasnt meant to be and you never know, sometimes the best recruiting is the recruits you dont get cause they may not be team players or feel entitled...never know. I damn sure dont want "cliques" in the locker room that Urbs had.

Just an update, 247 reported that Mac and Nuss hit a home run on their in home visit with Stidham and talked to he and his family for several hours about their immense need at the QB position and the his fit in the offense.
Stidham said he was most impressed with Florida's long term offensive plan saying "They know their shite" about offense and the vision they have for the program.
247 reported that Stidham will make a final decision as to whether he will visit Florida tomorrow. They also said that Baylor OC Kendall Briles is a guy that could impact Stidhams recruitment if he were to go to another school.
Hopefully he'll pull the trigger and take the visit to UF.
