Well, either Mac and Nuss did a good job or this kid is trolling all schools involved so his name gets tossed around more. Former better than latter.

I hope we don't bite on any of these transfers. We need to develop a young QB that can lead the program for 2 or 3 years. Get out and recruit and coach the young guys up. Recruiting and coaching, the basis for a successful program. Go Gators.

For whatever reason the kid still looks up to Art Briles, and Briles is pushing him to Auburn. If McElwain pulls this off it's a borderline miracle.

Matt, Stidham has three years of eligibility. He'll be coming in as a redshirt sophomore.

Either way, I just don't like the message it sends to high school recruits. Just me, I'm ok with whatever Coach feels he needs to do to win some ballgames.

Well....Mac is damn if he does and damned if he doesnt. He wants to win and wants the trigger man next year ready to rock n roll. There has been so much bitching about QB play the last 7 years...he feels compelled to correct it and I dont blame him.

Mac subscribes to the notion that it is a team sport and isnt about individuals...so if a recruit is butt hurt, oh well.

if that's the case, he should've started trask or franks this year. but again, you don't realize that.

Youre always one play away from starting

Do you not remember the Treon yr? He stunk it up and we didnt have a QB on the roster who was better to take the job

Don't derail the thread, but I think it's obvious from the spring game that Franks and Trask needed time to develop. I understand redshirting them for developmental purposes and because you wanna play the guys that give you the best chance to win this year, especially with the East and the SEC Championship within grasp.

But I also understand your point of view and argument that Franks or Trask couldn't have been worse than what we saw and them getting experience for the future would be beneficial for either of them.

I tend to lean towards being okay with them redshirting simply because you see redshirt freshmen QBs being successful all over the country (notably Jameis and Francois at FSU). I would like to see one of the freshmen play in the bowl game IF we don't get Stidham. If we do, I would like to keep a year between Stidham and Franks/Trask so they won't be scared off as bad.

He's a stud. Apparently he went on the radio today and said he had a great visit with Mac and Nuss and is looking forward to talking with them about visiting Gainesville.

I saw a clip of a throw he made where he threw a dime right down the middle of the field for a touchdown, and it was the exact same throw that Appleby threw a pick 6 on.

I hope we can land this guy. It would be program changing, seriously.

Anybody could make a throw like that in the Big 12 conference. Defenses suck there.
