The difference is a career .275 hitter in MLB makes the hall of fame. A 52% passer in college ends up being a trivia question.
Good point.
Maybe a .200-.225 type hitter would be a better example.

Question for you, if you were managing a MLB team and had this player, batting average .200 - .225 that you knew would hit 30 HRs, would you play him over a player that would average .275 - .300 with say, 15 HRs?

Baseball is so situational. So there might be some cases where I'd play the HR hitter (especially depending on how each does against a LHP/RHP, etc).
Also, who is the better fielder?
Sorry, not trying to be obtuse, but baseball is nuanced like that.
However, if you're talking about from a general standpoint, from a pure hitting standpoint, I'd play the guy with the higher BA and lower amount of HR's.

Kinda my reason for liking Mertz over Richardson. Hopefully you know what you are going to get play for play, game for game.
I'm not a baseball guy so don't confuse me.

Looking forward to seeing a depth chart for the Utah game I'm sure some young guys will see playing time.

If he is a starter his 1st season the services had him way underrated.

Utah fans are now saying Rising isn't likely to play and its 50/50 who starts between walk-on Barnes and track star Johnson.

What is going on with our center? That scares me with all the bad snaps in the spring game.

Didnt he have a cast on?

Not sure but heard he was on crutches a while back and is still not back.

I don't want to be all doom and gloom but the O line concerns me more than other unit on the team. I know the current staff is digging out of a hole they inherited but I can't wait until we are past this stage.

Depth will be the issue, the starting 5 will be SEC caliber.
The next 5?
The next 5?

Some people think George might have problems against good SEC rushers that he is a little slow footed.

It was a no brainer that Rising was going to start this game. Utah just throwing out drama. Hoping florida would not be ready for Rising to play much less start.
I'm glad he is starting because if florida wins I don't want to hear well you beat Utah without Rising
