I don't think its likely we beat Utah on the road even if they are missing that injured QB and TE that had over 100 yards on us last season. I think they still win this game even if they end up starting that walk-on QB. I think their defense will prioritize stopping our run game and I don't think we will burn them enough in the passing game to force them to really respect that. The weakness of that defense is a couple of the DBs but I don't think this team is ready to take real advantage of that. They have a couple of good pass covering DBs so one of them will likely be covering Pearsall most of the time.
Maybe Mertz will make me a believer this game but I just don't see him being able to carry us to a win if they are able to keep our running game in check a little. As far as our defense the D line should be improved but we don't know what we are going to get out of these new DB starters the first game. I think we will need to win the turnover battle to have a chance to beat Utah on the road.

If Rising is not playing and they start a walk on QB and he lights us up. Then it will be a very long season!!!
I'm not saying Florida will walk all over Utah if Rising isn't playing (IF)
But Florida should win the game for sure.
Unless Mertz is as bad as he was at Wisky.
