Georgia was garbage last year on the OL, and at WR. It was a a huge weakness for them.

Half the UGA fan base thought Kirby wasn't going to make it as a coach also.

But now look, GREAT RECRUITING, plus PLAYER DEVELOPMENT, and you have the new king in the east and all of a sudden Kirby looks like a good coach.

Mac should take notes.

On how to inherit a team running 225 yards a year before he was even being considered? Averaging 8th recruiting class for the last 5 years? Who, on average won 10 games a year the last 5 years?

He didn't develop the 17 juniors and seniors on offense and defense and it's not like Georgia was hurting in recruiting.

Look deeper. Uga has huge attrition from their recruiting classes. If you go based off of just ranking Mac inherited a good recruiting situation as well.

And these juniors and seniors were mediocre under richt but now look championship caliber on accident?

Don’t be a homer.

Difference is Richt recruited BOTH sides of the ball.

Which is why they had true freshman playing ol last year? Again look deeper. Don’t be a homer.

Bottomline, Mac had way more holes to fill than Kirby.. Period.

He did. But he's also had more recruiting classes and coaching seasons than Kirby to accomplish that. Kirby has turned very good recruiting into elite recruiting and helped the program take a step forward which had gotten stale under Richt.

If he did why are Freshman, sophomore, and jucos starting on their offense who were brought in by Kirby? Mac has had a whole year to add talent compared to Kirby and none of his classes can touch the balance Kirby has brought it on both sides of the ball. Macs recruiting on defense has been terrible. We've signed 4 DTs in 3 classes so far, missed on an almost entire secondary class in 2016 and are lbers aren't elite. Look at our current class and look at UGAS. Which looks better on both sides of the ball?

Kirby had advantages as well.
1. Kirby is an alumn of UGA
2. Kirby already recruited the area being with Bama.
3. Kirby is known very well as a defensive guru under Saban.
4. UGA is the big dog of a very talent rich state ala LSU. No in state comp and most kids grow up wearing UGA's colors.
Mac left for a few years and lost those relationships. Its hard to come in and steal recruits from guys like Saban,Fisher,Richt ect when you come from CoSt and have been out of touch. IMO IF we hired him fresh off of Bama's natty we would be in much better shape. Oh, well either way, recruiting is ramping back up now. Just took him awhile to find his footing and the right coaches who could recruit as well.

That's been Slayer, though, he's pretty bitter these days and has absolutely no substance.

8th in recruiting for an average in the last five years. (Florida was about to slip into the 20's/30's, easily.)

50 - 17 over the last five years for Mark Richt. (28 - 21 for Muschamp in four, thank God he didn't have a fifth.)

17 juniors/seniors on offense and defense who are all Richt players. (2016 we were starting 13 Underclassmen, just ONE year after Muschamp left because of roster mismanagement.)

Georgia fans, and even some Gators fans don't want to admit that Georgia was in great shape when Kirby came in and that Florida was in terrible shape.

Not half-way bad, not decent, it was left in horrible shape. What's incredible, though.

Is that even though McElwain took over a team with considerably less wins and more losses, a team that was recruiting much worse (because it was only on one side of the ball), a team that was left without upperclassmen, that had six scholarship offensive linemen -- still managed to beat Georgia by double digits.

If that isn't your idea of a decent coach, I don't know what is.

This year we have 21 Scholarship athletes on the injury report -- some of them might play, but we have no idea. We shouldn't win with those numbers, but if we're within 10 points he's a miracle worker.

Dude. Mac is a top 3 job. Mac was only gone 3 years.
Kirby has to fight off every elite program from the country.
If he's an elite defensive guy explain how he's getting top talent on both sides of the ball and Mac is not
MEYER NEVER COACHED IN THE SOUTH AND BROUGHT IN TOP CLASSES. ZOOK WAS GONE FOR 5 YEARS AND BROUGHT IN TOP CLASSEES. WM WAS GONE FOR 3 YEARS AT TEXAS. HE BROUGHT IN TOP CLASSES. Richt went to MIAMI AND IS RECRUITING BETTER THAN MAC IN YEAR 2. WILLIE TAGGART IS OUTRECRUITING MAC AFTER A YEAR ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE COUNTRY. HE COACHED AT STANFORD A DECADE AGO!! HE HAS 3 TOP 50 FL RECRUITS. RICHT HAS 12. Mac has 5. STOP WITH THE bullshite EXCUSES

Why has our offense not improved at all in 2.5 years under Mac ? In 2.5 years he hasn’t been able to improve Muschamps offense at all . You guys have nothing but excuses. If you hired me to do a job for you and in my first 3 years I didn’t do any better then the guy before me that you fired , would you not fired me ?

What did you expect from the team this year ? 10+ wins ? Lol

So that’s your excuse for this year what about the last 2 ? If I had a penny for every excuse you guy gave for Mac I could make living just asking you guys why our offense still sucks .

Why is Mac just now starting a QB he recruited from high school? Why did LDR or Zaire not start to open the season? Mac said he could win with his dog playing QB. Maybe he knew that he would have a defense that was good enough for him to win with an offense and that why he said that . His cocky arse can’t improve this offense in 3 year . Who is forcing him to play a redshirt freshmen? Who recruited these players that have been suspended all year and been in trouble in the past ? If these guys are not on the team next year will you use this excuse again next year ?

When will you guys want Mac to live up to your high expectations and not make excuses for him when he fails to meet them?

I am not sure if you and Matt are being sarcastic or for real because you guys thought we would win almost every game this year . How about you guys tell us what record you think we really will have in the final 5 games . If you say 4-1 or better is there any record that should get Mac fired? We already know about the suspended players and how the team has look so far . There is no reason to expect 4-1 or better and have excuses for going 2-3 . You want a QB change so if Franks went down then it wouldn’t be an excuse.

Anything from 1-4 to 5-0 is possible with this staff . If Mac is half the offensive mind he thinks he is and he takes over play calling 5-0 is possible. If the players start to give up on him then 1-4 is possible.

I am drop dead serious, I picked us to win 10+ games this year and I believe we would have if not for all the issues, suspensions, injuries, hurricanes,QB problems that I thought we over.
We can win all 5 games left on the season. Leg Humpers will be the biggest test but they are beatable and we live in their heads. USCe and Mizzou are bad. UAB is too, and the clown college is worse than they have been in years. 5-0 Baby! Go Gators.
Mac gets an extension at the end of the year, great recruiting class coming in. The future is bright. Go Gators! Beat them dogs!
