Fellow Gators - tell me about the refs last night?

I decided to go tarpon fishing instead of watching the game because here in NFL our tarpon window is very narrow.

I read somewhere that the refs did in Arkansas but don't know much about the circumstances of the cheating.

Can one of my fellow UF fans detail each instance of the refs cheating Arky and tell me which crew I should send a check?

Thanks.

C'mon Gators. Fill me in on how bad the refs were.

The box score shows the same number of penalties for each team with UF getting more penalty yards. I'm not sure what happened.

You got skunked out there and you're still mad, right?

I desperately want to hit those tarpon. One day I will go there and I will be happy to fish for them.

I've done bone fish, but they don't hit like a tank that is Tarpon.

We actually did get skunked. The same place where they were rolling left and right just last Monday was empty. The wind was kicked up even late in the evening which is not usual for us and it really fricked the fishing up.

Not mad at all though. I rarely get a chance to fish much these days so being on the water drowning bait is still a blast. I needed to run the boat anyway.

We did slay a few beers though.

Have done years of tarpon fishing in the Tampa Bay area...but don't wanna fight a damn fish for an hour in the hot weather....for fun fishing I'd rather go offshore grouper/snapper fishing and have flatlines out.

Sent check pregame to ISU-Texas refs. They did work yesterday.

The game called even IMHO. Late in the game we got sloppy. I was at the game so to discuss the plays I'll have to defer that to someone who recorded it.

Where do you fish? I used to live in Tampa/St.Pete .

I'm in Jax so I fish locally here most of the time with the occasional Keys trip. I'd love to hit the passes in the Tampa Bay Area though. Just haven't found time to get the boat down there.

In all seriousness, they were fine. We were doing well until our players (RoPo) fricked it up late in the 4th with stupid penalties.

Why did I read that the refs cheated again then?

The refs were ok.

Although I didn't understand why the ejected Harrison. Is it true that it was reversed by the SEC office? Will Jon play first half against LSU? We will need him

He apparently touched the ref with the tip of his fingers. Too mad.

I think he's find for LSU though.

The biggest complaint was the Kick Catch interference that was called right. Guy bobbled punt and player from Arkansas got to close before hit ground.

It's dumb rule but called right.

Would've been Ark ball on 10 but Florida drove and scored end of half, ball game.

Strange punt return rule allowed us to keep the ball. TBH, I would be pissed if I was Arky because the rule doesn't make much sense but it was the rule.

Oh, I did see that. How is it dumb though (the rule)? Shouldn't the fair catch be given an opportunity to be finished before hitting the ground if the intent is player safety?

For instance, if our guy bobbled it and then got creamed and injured before the ball hit the ground that kind of defeats the purpose for the rules intent of player safety.

He didn't interfere though he dropped ball. In NFL it's fumble and until last few years it was. Plus it went directly into Arky player hands with no contact.

You're saying there was contact?

The ball bounced off your player and directly in to our players hands. According to the rule, he apparently is just supposed to drop it and let it hit the ground before he is allowed to recover the fumble.

He interfered prior to the ball hitting the ground. So you think once a ball is bobbled the punt returned is fair game and can be clobbered?

Our guy was about to reclaim the ball when the Arky guy grabbed a hold of it right?

If player bobbled it and it lands into the opposing team's hands even WITHOUT contact, the returning team keeps the ball. Just because it didn't hit the ground.

Yep sure am because the catch was never interfered with the possession is lost once he lost control.

I get safety reason of rule just never seen applied on a change of possession like that.
