WM tried to turn UF into Bama lite. The problem most of us realists have is Mac is a supposed guru yet his offenses stink like WM and he's not pulling in the talent to make UF elite. He's got all his players yet we're 109th. FF or Trask couldn't beat out LDR or AA. We are a QB away. We're a coaching staff and 2 elite recruiting classes away. Mac won the East because WM left him Grier, KT21, and multiple high level nfl draft picks at defense. The East is trash. It had a 36-54 SEC record. Every team this year in the division had 4 losses except UF. How'd UF do against bama? 83-31. I don't call that success I call that manslaughter. You guys can hang your east banners next to Missouri and drink beer with them while the rest of us real fans wait for an actual coach to return UF to SEC champs while recruiting to UFs standards.

TJ, you're a fricking moron. What did Muschamp do against Bama? The guy went 4 - 8 and lost to an FCS.

In 2013, Muschamp led the Gators to a 4–8 season, the Gators' first losing season since 1979. Muschamp again had a losing record in the SEC, 3–5. This made Muschamp the first Gators coach to have two losing SEC records since the 1950s. This also ended a 22-year bowl streak that dated back to 1991 when the Gators came off probation. The season included two particularly humiliating losses. The first was a homecoming loss to Vanderbilt—their first loss to the Commodores since 1988 and first at home since 1945. Muschamp's Gators also lost to an FCS team, Georgia Southern, the first loss to a lower division team in the history of the program. Muschamp lost to traditional rival Georgia for the third consecutive year and a 30-point loss to Florida State in the season's final game dropped his record against the Seminoles to 1–2.

The only difference is that we've consecutively won ten games both seasons and on a broken offense.

You're just stupidly myopic, you have no sense and I have no idea why you're even on the board anymore. Your points are all shortsighted and it's like you just fricking forgot that we were fighting to play in bowls a few years ago and nearly lost 3 times to FCS teams when Muschamp had a healthy team.

Our defense on Saturday looked better than any Muschamp coached defense, and this dude is only on his second year -- and with freshmen looking like seniors making huge fricking plays.

We beat LSU on the Road, for frick's sake.

And it was such a dominating win that we produced. (Bringing this back to recruiting.) So many freshmen looked dynamic, explosive and what surprises me the most: Seem to be learning at an amazing rate.

Gardner was heads up, Joseph can be credited for basically winning the game against LSU by stopping their QB on the one yard line.

Zuñiga, Gardner and Joseph all look pretty well-tuned for a guy who ''doesn't know how to recruit''.

Being great against a terrible offense doesn't say Much. Gardner was a 4* and has played like one. Where were Vosean and Zuniga most of the year? Nowhere to be found. Keep cherry picking.

WM is not the standard for UF. Mac is not much better than him. That means Mac is not a coach that is going to take UF back to the top. I still don't get how you think I'm arguing that WM is the comparison WRT to success I'm making. I'm not. I'm comparing Mac to SOS and Meyer. Uh we went 9-4. That's not ten unless you're gonna do like reel did defending WM and add in the canceled game like he took out the bowl loss with 11-1. The game was on Monday bro. My POV is based long-term. Yours is short sighted. You chirp off about winning the East yet you avoid the blowout losses in big games near loses to 3-9 FAU or Vandy, the average recruiting, and terrible coaching and staff hires. I see all of that and know that Mac won more on luck than anything else Yours is short sighted because you think you can keeping winning like that. You can't. WM neglected or underrecruited the OL and got roasted for it. Mac does the same to DT and not a peep. At least hold every coach to the same standards. Beating LSU isntas big a win when they have 3 losses and zero offense. Hell zook beat them at DV when they were coached by Saban. He still wasn't a good coach. These are UFs standards of coaching

SOS
Meyer

Zook

Mac

WM.

I don't hate UF otherwise I wouldn't invest time and money into them. Mac is paid millions and arrogantly said he could win with his dog at QB. He isn't an offensive guru, QB whisperer or a great recruiter. I'd like UF to fix this mistake with the quickness. There's no need to drag this out.

UF had 7 on the All SEC freshman team.

Never judge a recruiting class in February. Judge them the next January. Guess what UF's recruiting class was loaded with on the field production.

Special teams - For gods sakes UF fans have been chanting a fricking kickers name. Gardner was a fricking stud.

Offense- Taylor played pretty good against some great D lines. McCoy held down the Center spot at the end of the year. Perine was the clear #2 RB. Cleveland showed brilliance at times. Swain and Hammond provided much need depth.

Defense- I don't even feel like typing this out anymore.

Zuniga lead the team in sacks and was either #1 or #2 in TFL.

What more do you want out of a RS Fr?

He had 5 sacks all year. 4 coming against North Texas and Umass. He had 1 sack in SEC play against Vandy and had 14 tackles overall in SEC play. I'd like to see him show up during SEC games. He has a long way to go. Leading UF in sacks doesn't really mean anything when you see we're #38 in the nation in Sacks with 31 behind ball state and tied with Louisville and USF.

What's wrong with #38? I'm really confused here. He also had a bunch of QB hurries, I think he lead the team there too.

I agree he's not some ALL Sec 1st team DL right now, but he was a RS freshmen.

UF was missing a top flight edge rusher last year, most of us said that before the year started. 31 sacks in a season is just fine.

It's not when 11 of them come from NTX and UMass. We had 20 sacks outside of those games.
Other games:

5 vs UK
1 vs UT
2 vs Vandy
0 vs Miz
2 vs UGA
1 vs Arkansas
5 vs SCAR
1 vs LSU
2 vs Bama

Others:

0 vs FSU
1 vs Iowa

21 sacks came against SCAR, UK,UMass and NTX. Four of the worst offenses in the country

I think there is another stat you should check though - and that is QBH . There is a site I use that tracks those, and I will look it up later.

Look, no one is arguing that UF had an elite pass rush this year, but to say it stunk isn't fair either.

It was a fair pass rushing unit, when healthy. #38 seems about right.

PS, Zuniga also lead the team in QB Hurries, which is impressive, when you consider he is a RS freshmen, the whole team put up 65 hurries, which is good.

So he had 25 tackles, 8.5 TFL, 5 sacks, 11 QB hurries. That's a solid season from any RS freshman.

Cece Jefferson, a Sophomore and a 5 star, had 30 tackles, 6.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks and 6 QB hurries.

For further reference - Tim Williams and Jonathan Allen, seen as two of the best pass rushers in the country, and 12 and 15 QB hurries respectively on a much better defense.

And there's shite stats can't provide, either, and that's the eye test regarding the stands that they had on the goal line. Chalk full of freshmen and backups, stopping fricking Guice twice on the one yard line.
