Agreed. Just like when Bob says he has a story to share after NSD.

Brantley going pro per TOS, wish him well....but I dont think he will be a first rounder...hope Im wrong. A lot of talent out there and when you add all the juniors and seniors together...only so many first round picks to be had.

But even if he doesnt make it in the first rd he has good chance to go in the second rd.

If he got a top 3 rd grade he should go. 1 less year he'll have to wait on his 2nd contract.

Does it seem like we have an unusually high number of "near misses" with this staff? I'm not saying there's not something to it but I just wonder how much of it is actually coming really close and how much is the recruiting reporters putting a positive spin on a miss.

Somewhere in the middle, always is...

If Leatherwood really wanted to be at UF he would be.

If you listen to Spivey's pod cast on GC he was pretty pissed off. He really thinks the staff just straight up dropped by the ball by playing too nice at the end and giving Saban the space to move in and take him back.

It's always easy to blame the staff, at the end of the day, he would be at UF if that's truly where he wanted to be.

Brantley wouldn't improve his stock by returning. He was right to go to the draft this year.

Scary numbers to consider

Alright so if everything stays the same with current recruiting numbers (I realize most teams will fill out more, but that includes Georgia):

Georgia: 10- 5 stars, 49- 4 stars.
Tennessee: 2- 5 stars, 33- 4 stars
Florida: 2- 5 stars, 23- 4 stars
South Carolina: 0- 5 stars, 23- 4 stars
Mizzou: 1- 5 stars, 4- 4 stars
Kentucky: 0- 5 stars, 12- 4 stars
Vandy: 0- 5 stars, 9- 4 stars

I know UF is going to probably land 6-7 more 4 star players, but you can see the talent level dropped from where UF once was, on paper.

5* DT Aubrey Solomon is giving Florida his last official visit on January 27. Normally, it would be an advantage to get the final visit. However, it appears that it would take a miracle to land Solomon at this point.

On Wednesday during a radio interview Solomon stated that Bama was the team to beat and then went on to say “I would describe it as a huge lead."

"“I just like what they’re doing on defense, I like the swagger they have about themselves right now, nobody can dethrone them right now. What do I really want to do, do I want to win championships or be the runner up"

Yeah, the Solomon ship has sailed. UF is 3rd at best for him.

Then we coach up the players who want to be Gators.

I will add this: our big opportunity is this year's season...we knock off a depleted Meatchicken team and we get immediate cred from the media. Then we might be undefeated after UT game...which is in the Swamp. We also have LSU in the Swamp, A&M, the girls school etc etc.

We should have finished with 10 wins this year except for the damn hurricane that took a cupcake game away from us.
Ten wins aint too shabby but we need to really beat some higher profile teams in 2017 and our recruiting will get a much needed boost...but wins alone arent always the driving force behind recruiting success. Where's Zook at when you need him?

UF is on pace to close pretty strong. It should get interesting down the stretch, and the board may expand a bit, depending on coaching hires as well.
