This isn't as misleading as I would've expected from CT. The blow up to "its happening tonight" however is exactly what i'd expect from CT.

oh we would have to "cheat" to do that. There's no way to ever convince them that a kid would ever actually choose to play for us over them.

Meh he has signed financial papers there so the staff would have a leg up on everyone if he did decommit, they would have unlimited contact with him, no dead periods

Per Tony Morrell, there are rumblings that XT may de-commit from Clemson tonight.

THO at the possibility...

ETA: and the melt the rumor alone will cause among taters is gonna be a show worth charging admission to.

ETA2: Muschamp also retweeted KJ's response to XT's tweet.

He has to know this'll get under the tater's skin in new and unheard of ways.

I was kinda surprised Muschamp retweeted it..it was just 6 exclamation points. That simple.

Another friend of mine said there were a couple of tweets deleted today that were about XT that were tweeted by Carolina staff associated with recruiting. He may be talking about Morgan Beagle's tweet bc it has been deleted.

ETA: and CockyTime...Morgan is, indeed, smokin' hot. :nohomo:

I have a good friend who's usually spot on with stuff pertaining to the program, i.e. The one who gave me the Felder news a day or two before it broke, and he said he hasn't heard any major rumblings about XT. He's pretty connected but knows more about what's happening with our actual players/coaches than recruits.

While there is precedent for Clemson losing a top recruit, they took half a high school team just to get then lose Nkemdiche at the end, but Thomas is not going to change his mind for us. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment if you even entertain the idea.

I agree. I don't see it happening. Clemson just won a natty, why would he come here?

If we string of 8-9 wins that's going to change some minds. Many of these kids are taking a wait and see approach

Anyone see all the rumors on other site that XT may be flipping to us...maybe KJ Henry coming too...

rooster...hear anything about this?

I have not heard a peep other than about the "trust in God" retweet.

This staff is so closed to leaks ... I dunno if anyone other than they at XT know for sure what's going-on. The only thing even remotely close to news I've heard on him was from my broker last week, who is a stone cold taterhead but a financial wiz ... and he told me he guarantees XT is a solid get for Clemson. He all but admitted to me that they have his Dad sewed-up ... take that FWIW.

All this reminds me of the Daquan Bowers fiasco for some reason. Rooster, were you around then? The story is he showed up to see a game at WB and wasn't allowed a ticket at will call for whatever reason. Next thing you know, he's dominating at Clemson. Ended up being a fool in the NFL but definitely was a talent in college.

Oh yeah, I was in the thick of things back then ... I remember every detail.

Da'Quan was a lock for Clemson his junior year in HS at Bamberg Earhart. He played us for awhile but when word got out that there was some hanky panky going-on money wise ... SPURrier ordered that ticket be pulled and to cut off all contact with him from that point forward. SPURrier made some public statements implying questions should be asked about his recruitment and Dabo went off the deep end protesting. Bowers, in the meantime, was driving a new car and his Dad got a new job with a big Clemson booster ... it was all very obvious. And then they tried to make a big snub deal outta us pulling his tickets and not letting him know before he got there and how embarrassed he was ... SPURrier was like "frick'im" don't play those kind of games with us.

I had often heard that SPURrier rarely got mad in public, I mean mad, not frustrated throwing visor stuff but mad ... yet he was mad that day.

We had, and still do I believe, some really good contacts up in B-E through the years, especially one who played baseball here ... and he was the one that made privy all the crap talking Bowers was doing about playing us for visits and free meals, etc.

Bamberg was one of my high school's rival's back in the day..the Barnwell Warhorses. We were in the same conference as them.

Also the home of that bitch Nikki Haley.

Yep ... it used to be a Gamecock town. Still is mostly but Bowers' family went full taterhead back then. That had to be almost ten years ago or so.

SPURrier took a bad rap for that but his actions we're justified.

Barnwell used to have some really good football teams back in the sixties and seventies. That conference was strong back in the day ... Barnwell, Chapin, Mid Carolina, Saluda, Batesburg-Leesville, Swansea ... hell, they were all powerhouses back then in 2A ball. I mean all sports too. Someone from that conference, with the occasional exception of when Woodruff would win state championships in football when Willie Varner was coaching there ... but someone from that conference would always win state championships in all three major sports. Now, back then St Mathews, (I forget what they are called now) always had good basketball teams.
