Why the F would we be honest? I would be thoroughly embarrassed if this was a bidding war that we lost.

Barnwell's good this year. They were state champions back in '88 and '89, beat Central Pageland both years. Silver Bluff was always our biggest rival but since Al Lown left, they suck.

We fell off after Mac Wier retired but have finally gotten. shite back together under Garrett. There's a kid with the last name of Corley on this year's Horses team that is very good. Defensive lineman, I believe.

Barnwell is still a Gamecock stronghold. 99% of the town is Gamecock bc of the Penders. Bru Pender played for the Gamecocks. Was a backup QB.

ETA: Barnwell is 3rd in 2A behind Abbeville and Bamberg as of last week.

Okay ... this is something that is important to understand.

I've been around things for a long long time now. I can say no program is squeaky clean - things are what they are and have been for decades. Long before I was born. I know of stories dating back to the thirties with Bama in Memphis and I know of first hand stories dating into the 50s and 60s with Bama, Clemson, Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee ... know them for a fact. LSU even (but they've usually played by the rules even when it has cost them a player or two), and Arkansas with a famous WR of theirs in '58. Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, all of them have been playing the game for decades because they had money to do it and coaches willing to do it.

Some programs, some coaches, didn't do it .... wouldn't do it.

We lagged behind for decades and ... in that respect we still do. Everyone has their limits.

With all of that stated, Clemson has been doing it for a long long time. They've built a network and they pride themselves in how efficiently and effectively it is run. Tennessee too, UNC to especially when it comes to basketball. Same for Louisville. I always heard wild and crazy stories about UCLA basketball back in the day ... Wooden wasn't just the Wizard of Westwood.

Back to Clemson.

Wait ... first, remember this. Charlie Pell went to Florida and took his recruiting methodology with him from Clemson. Florida paid the price, Clemson did later but Danny Ford perfected the system and built the system bigger and better than Pell ... and eventually it cost him. But Florida didn't start winning until they had Pell's players ... he and Galen Hall got them over the hump.

Okay, now back to Clemson.

Clemson plays dirty behind the scenes on the recruiting trail. Can't prove it but it always eventually comes to light. They used to have some particularly dirty recruiting battles with Johnny Majors' staff at Tennessee ... got busted went they went after a couple of players in Knoxville. Probably the first ever recruiting scandal publicized on a major network, pre-ESPN, was when ABC did a prime time news story (that they had uncovered through Wide World of Sports) on Clemson cheating in Knoxville ... I'll never forget it.

So Clemson learned from that ... and I was told this by one of the biggest Clemson families (a member) in their history. They decided that if they lost a player they had invested in, someone was going to pay. So they learned to cover things up better than most and always have a backup plan.

Nothing is more evident of this than the Nkimdiche case with Ole Miss. (Oh, I forgot something about UNC turning in Danny Ford and Ford being caught accusing UNC's coach at the time Dick Crum, of turning him in ... it was caught on camera after the game. UNC's Crum was later coincidentally busted for a violation and fired ... retribution was paid.) So now we're back to Ole Miss and everyone knows the big was put in the NCAA's ear by Clemson after they lost three Georgia recruits to Ole Miss.

They play very very dirty.

You can bet they've already got their bases covered and ducks in a row with XT.

If you Waller with the pigs you're sure to end up covered in pig shite.

Wallering in the pig shite is going to catch-up to Clemson - it always does. The Florida programs are already on the case and Georgia will soon be too now that Richt is gone.

Best thing we can do is not Waller in the shite with Clemson. It's a battle we cannot win ... but we can win by playing within the acceptable limits. Limits that do not raise flags.

XT is not worth exceeding those boundaries.

Yeah, that was 75-77 ... they had six players off of that 76 team sign major college scholarships. Frank McGuire offered four of them and only Zam signed although one kid, their big center committed but didn't qualify. Seems like he ended-up out at Oregon or Oregon State, or Washington maybe.

This kid is as big of an attention whore as Dax. My gut tells me he went to pickens county last week and they paid more attention to guys they're trying to land than him and he got mad. That is at most the extent of the situation.

What's leading me to this conclusion is with all the smoke, no one has even attempted to name a reason as to why he would decommit. Typically there is some insinuation that we did this or they did that but nothing so far.

Also the reason I really hope we don't show special attention to Dax this weekend. No kid is more superior to another at this point, they're all just recruits.

My only potential reason is the possibility that he sees Dabo as a joke and Venables as the only coach on staff with any real football IQ. I figure Venables will be a big target for a HBC job after this season with as many seats getting hot right now. If that be the case, maybe he senses Venables won't be there or maybe he truly sees Clemson as the cesspool they are and realized he made a mistake?

Come someone PLEASE tell me how a kid who's dad's in federal prison (and has been for most of his adult life) can afford to go to a $60K a year school AND drive a late model F-150?

For those not 100% up to speed, here's a quick timeline.

Feburary 24, 2017, he sets a commitment date of Dec 20, 2017. That tweet has since been deleted.

Then on March 21, 2017 he first puts up photos of his new ride.

Then, 18 days later, He committs to Clemson

Something just doesn't add up. But as Rooster says, they have their ducks in a row....

Clemson Booster makes donation to IMG, IMG uses part of that towards "Financial Aid". Just my conspiracy theory.

No Scholarships and limited amount of Financial aid at IMG.

And here is the google listing for Titus Touch The "Family Car wash" which is now listed as "Permanently closed".

Tbh do you really think they wouldn't find the money for someone of XTs ability. I fully believe Clemson is cheating, but the IMG tuition theory doesn't fly with me. The truck on the other hand, as well as the sudden Clemson commit, that tells me something foul is afoot.

Probably boosters giving jobs to his family so they can collectively afford the truck, tuition, etc.

Edit: This is the legal way to do it by the way.

When I think about how awesome it would be to flip XT from Clemson, I immediately think of this. While we'd all be elated, it would almost guarantee the NCAA would give us some unwanted attention, at least for a little bit.

The Nkemdiche flip is what eventually lead to Ole Miss' downfall IMO. Granted, Ole Miss didn't give a shite about covering their tracks, and playing with his brother seemed to be a good reason for Robert to choose Ole Miss, but I've always figured Clemson took the flip extremely hard and tipped the NCAA.

Not saying we're playing dirty, or at least as dirty, as other programs, but I'd just prefer we just let XT go and not get caught up in a potential situation like that.

ETA: I do appreciate that the whole "NewSpring Church machine" is finally starting to gain some national recognition. Had a Michigan friend from work ask me about it yesterday.

Good lord I want NewSpring to blow up so hard. Not in the explosion sense, but in the NCAA sanctions sense.
