On twitter the rumor is that we have our man. No word yet on who.

I have lost all faith in sports writers ability to get a story. Kendall freaking Rogers at D1 supposedly reported, in a premium article that I'm not paying for but another poster at another site paraphrased, that winning a national championship will have very little to do with whether or not Kevin O'Sullivan will be our next coach. States that "other factors are in play" and that he should not be completely ruled out.

I'm quitting my job right now and becoming a sports writer. You can write whatever you want and no one can touch you.

I have read elsewhere that his wife is from SC and wants very badly to return to SC and doesn't like it where they live now, but that's entirely rumor. I doubt very seriously that he leaves UF for USC now with the national title, and the projected upgrades to their baseball arena.

He should get a sizable raise for this season's success, and support from the fanbase and ability to recruit there (not that its ever been bad) should be better than its ever been now...

I eye SEC Country sideways anyways because 1) its owned by Atl. Journal Const., who has always posted biased articles concerning USC's FB program, and 2) the top reporter for USC sports is a guy who's been the recruiting reporter for two Clemson fan sites (CUTigers, the Scout.com site, and The Clemson Insider) for some 7 years before taking the job.

South Carolina is supposed to have a decent journalism college - hell, my sister got a degree in Journalism from there - but I rarely ever hear of reporters for South Carolina sports being South Carolina grads. It's always UGA, UNC, or CU people. David Cloninger seems to be the lone reporter who actually seems to care about Gamecock sports - the rest just do their jobs, but it always seems slanted away from USC to me....

Maybe it's because it's such a good journalism school that they get better job than writing not two-bit sports websites

You have at least two USC grads at the Washington Post's sports desk, including the Caps beat writer. There's one at the Dallas Morning News, and I know another won a damn Pulitzer from the St Pete Times a couple years ago.

A lot of the talent from USC goes to work at some big-time places.
